Launcher problems

I have 3 accounts. I have eve client installed in 3 different directories so that each account has it's own settings folder. This means each account has different "last used values" for all the drop downs in the industry windows, the chat windows, the overview, the market quick list. It works well.

The problem is if I use the launcher. During a typical play time I will log in and out of many of my characters, updating orders, restarting copy jobs, hauling materials, checking POS fuel. The problem is when I alt-tab back to a launcher (that was run from one of my three client installations) I have no way of knowing which client installation I ran from.

If I log into accountA from a launcher that was run from directoryB then all my settings are wrong. I somehow seem to pair up the wrong account with the wrong startup directory very often.

The only solution I've found is to point my icons on my desktop to exefile.exe rather than to launcher.exe. That way when I run exefile.exe from directoryA the username is already populated with accountA so I just bang in the password and we good to go. When I run exefile.exe from directoryB the username is prepopulated with accountB.

Is there any solution to this that doesn't involve me bypassing the launcher?

NOTE: The launcher does remember it's last username, but it's not very useful. If I run launcherA from directoryA and login to accountA, then when I run launcherB from directoryB it "remembers" accountA - which is obviously not the right account.
