Rescuing toon from Steam

PC hardware problems have cropped up (not fatal so far) so I have decided to upgrade to SSD, Win 7.1 and a new bulk storage HDD. I have two EVE accounts, one on a vanilla client and the other in Steam. For a variety of reasons I'm going to kill my EVE in Steam.

Which files do I need to rescue from the EVE Steam install in order to sanely move my toons off that account into the vanilla client install? Due to the hardware issues copying the entire install over is not going to be possible, so this has to be a surgical operation.

For backup purposes I'm surprised this toon core file list doesn't already exist. At least multiple search attempts didn't hit.

Characters are not stored clientside, you don't need to move/back them up in any way.

There are many things you do to a character setup that are client side. More than enough to be annoying as hell if you have to set them all up again.
