Hi everyone, I just started playing this game recently. (tbh im halfway through the Blood-Stained Stars, Is that a little too early to be writing a forum post like this?) Anyway, I have a few questions about what skills to train. Can someone point me towards the general aspect of skills that I should be training towards? Yes I do use eve-mon, but right now I don't really have an idea of what I should be training for right now. I really like both PvP and Trading, and I guess I could train, say, skills to improve fitting ability for T1 frigates and maybe some Trade/Retail/tax skills/etc on the side, although can a single character really do more than one thing? Of course the obvious answer is going to be YES because this is EVE where you can do ANYTHING Big smile. But would it say be more efficient to train core skills (Shields/Engineering/Fit Skills/etc) and make an alt for Trading?

Anyway, I found a handy guide to basic/core skills on the EVE University Wiki (http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Basic_Skills) and made an evemon plan for it all. Is this a good idea to train maybe with some combat skills thrown in there?

Also, because I have 2 bonus remaps along with the yearly one, should a generic remap like Intel/Per speed up my training process?

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks in advance! Big smile

having a dedicated trade alt sitting in jita is often a good idea. the question is whether you want to do it on the same account or get a second one.
as for remapping: most trade and leadership skills have charisma as guiding attribute, most ship and combat related skills are either intelligence or perception. it's up to you to run the numbers on which remap would be best for what you have in mind.

I should buy an Ishtar.

If I'd have the choice now, I'd go with a dedicated trade alt and a dedicated pvp'ing, security mission-running, ratting pvp alt.

The trade alt can remap right away to make the most of the trade and social skills (he'll need isk to buy the books, though).

For the pvp alt: remapping to INT=PER is probably a good idea. Ships/Guns are PER/WIL and support skills are INT/MEM, and you want them both. There are a few exceptions along the way, but any of these skills can be trained quickly to III anyhow, no matter what map you're running.

Good luck.

With your trading character just train up to trade 3 plus a few levels in accounting and see where that takes you. Many people spend time (which equates to money) training for trade skills that they simply don't utilize. You'll know if you need more trade slots when you regularly hit the cap.
