The new guide is so new its not on Googles best results page yet for a close search of its file name. The fact that its a PDF does not help.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

I thought that in 2013 if people wanted to know something they'd already know how to use google.

One of the "problems" with EVE is that its simply so big that a new player generally don't know HOW much they can do. Thus its a bit difficult for a new player to pin point exactly what to look for when searching.
Not to mention the fact that there is a lot of outdated information that will show up on a random google search Smile

Of course they could google "what to do in EVE online" and they would hopefully come up with thisBig smile

But someone requested that the new guide was made a sticky on the NCQA section of the forums already, so hopefully it will be easier to find soon.

You clearly lack the search ability on the forums:

The alternative to all of this seems to be just clicking the link in the launcher about the New Player FAQ, which immediately gets you to the PDF.

But I suppose doing all that stuff in the OP is the normal way to go about it.

The OP fails to realize that a lot of people depend on having a victim who simply didn't know better. Knowledge is power you see. When a noob complains about the game, the same people will post and snark about how easy it is to survive in the game.

If there was a concerted and organized effort towards new pilot training geared towards "how not to get ganked/reaped/owned" there would be tears and ragequitting from the ganker community (in spite of how easy that even they themselves say it is to avoid getting victimized).

So which side of the toast is the butter on?
