No, and if I did it would probably not be through the watch list.
It would be through a private chat.

If I'm going to yell "turn on your hardeners!!!" i'll do it in fleet.

Maybe an FC or a scout could make use of it to talk to the Fc directly.

There is a One on One voice chat thing in the watchlist? It's hidden pretty well

I've seldom used the one to one chat. Most people don't know it even exists, so I would remind people that it does exist before doing anything. (besides making it more obvious that it exists).

Out-of-game resources are used for this. In-game has the problem of players having sound totally off on some clients and never being sure which client is which being "mained." Other than that, OOG have a superior setup regarding subchannels and whispers.

do we genuinely need to know on the watchlist exactly how much shield armor and hull people on the watchlist have?

i personally use the watchlist as an indicator of if an important fleet member is getting aggro, knowing their HP status is a bonus yes but im locking him and applying reps asap anyways so isnt it a little redundant?

would love to know from the devs that if they took the discrete hp levels away, that we could get more people in watchlist, use the red blinking as an indicator of aggro/primaried fleet member.

Would also be awesome if we could get an indicator actually ON the watchlist, if that particular member is broadcasting for reps, prior to being primaried! that would help out greatly to differentiate between a high priority broadcast, and a typical broadcast.

Yes, I do. Frequently the people I fight leave drones/whoring guns/smartbombs on people, as well as "bait" primaries to confuse logistics.

We used to have this.

It should still be in there, if it doesn't work it's a bug.

Well, +1 for you, good sir!

People would use it if everyone wasn't using teamspeak or ventrillo. This is something done more frequently by corporations and alliances in fleet operations of a med-large size where you are worried about spys etc. Talking to other FCs using binds on Ventrillo was always useful - perhaps some hot key settings are in order to make it used in game.

I reckon about as many people are using it as know it exists ;)

Must say though, there is a definite opportunity here for CCP & Vivox to work on some hardware to support multiple channel communications. Back in the day there was an awesome little toy called the Microsoft SideWinder Game Voice. The short version: it's a "keypad" (aka generic USB HID) with a bunch of buttons on it, with connections for a two-plug headset (headphones + microphone).

The Game Voice software would allow binding various channels to buttons on the Game Voice, and the buttons on the game voice could be set to toggle various channels: simplistically the five buttons could be bound to Fleet/Wing/Squad/Chat1/All to allow filtering of messages. The buttons are lit when active.

Perhaps there is a modern equivalent (i.e.: device that provides generic HID that doesn't overlap the keyboard buttons) that CCP could inform players about with a devblog "introducing" the one-to-one chat mode?

Just a couple of thoughts on the matter. My thanks to the folks at Vivox who are providing a very nice in-game solution for voice communications.

I.e. Move pilots up/down the list, pita when ppl leave/join fleet and you have to completely redo your WL if you like your priority targets at the top of list for example or set in a particular order

since seeing team papercuts post about their changes they are working on. especially the one to do with targeting editing, i came by to ask for the same with watchlist.. it would be nice to move the people in watchlist. possibly also make a option to lock the list to prevent accidental sliding of members in watchlist.
