This although not sustainable will get you some serious isk to get started.

After a few weeks, mining is not a very profitable activity unless you multibox a shitload of account, preferably in null sec.

Buy PLEX.
Sell on market.
Stop wasting your lifetime grinding for pixelmoney and have fun instead.

Mining isn't a profitable activity from the beginning.

Try putting Overdrive Injectors on the Isk to make it fast.

This is the best advice ive seen. I used to spend hours/days/weeks trying to make isk so i could buy **** and PvP. Then i realized im never in on any of the fleets, or doing the solo stuff because i have to explore or mine or whatever to make my isk, and then not use it much anyway. Spending the $20 extra every 2 weeks to get a PLEX and make 600M+ isk is well worth it to me to play this game and have fun.

Lose the idea that there is honor in this game and "i make my isk in game im a true player" . no your not.

Looked up...saw this F***ING clown dropping like a rock.  Woke up in Vylade wondering what just happened!!!

Mining, oh how it is hated. But it does have advantages, at least for some. I am going to lay a few things out using this new alt, just so any similarly situated might also see mining in a different light.

I currently do most things available in the game to some extent. But mining is the single thing I do most, although pvp is catching up now.

I am online on one or more of my 3 accounts and 7 characters quite a bit. When I mine, I am making isk, and I am doing other things. Like reading, etc. about things in Eve Online I wish to learn more about. Or perhaps doing some real life money making work. Or perhaps working on one of those "honey do lists" that makes my sexy wife happy, which has infinite benefits. Etc.

The isk value of the mining, all things considered (ore, refined minerals, salvaged mats, looted stuff from belt rat kills, bounties) probably averages about 15-20 million isk an hour in high sec with a decent mining alt with someone like this guy fleeted up and just hanging around outside the station. Check out mining leadership bonuses in a fleet, which only requires 2 characters.

If I work an hour at my real life money-making work, and yes, I can do that quite a bit sitting at a good computer with all the technology available today, I can make more than enough in an hour of afk mining to buy a plex, and still come out ahead in extra real life money earned for just about every hour so worked/mined. I also have the ore and salvage and loot from rat kills on top of that. And doing the ingame mining and the other activities is not boring, because unlike all the mining haters, I am not merely mining, but multi-tasking.

I mostly use the materials and refined minerals from afk mining via one of my alts to make stuff, which I sell using a trader alt, after I use my hauler alt to get the stuff to the trader alt's current trading hub home.

And oh yes, by doing all those other things while afk mining, I can focus when doing something like pvp, during which I do not multi-task.

I am building quite an Empire, I am quite wealthy in the game, without scamming, I am having fun, I am learning more and more about this great sandbox game, and fortunately, since I multi-task when mining, none of this has detracted from my real life advancement.

So, while I agree that if all you were to do were to sit and stare at your mining lasers, that definitely would be very boring very fast, I am in fact mining quite a bit, and not simply staring at my mining lasers.

Eve is a sandbox. Once you realize that, and once you get past the horrible initial learning curve and grasp some basic things, you can chart your own course.

And with all that said, here is my number one PRO TIP: Do NOT waste time worrying about what other players think, but instead find your particular path, and go for it!

I know a player that runs 12 mining accounts, plus one in a Rorq with full boosts, mining high end ore in null sec. That's really the only way to make money fast mining... add more accounts.

One of the easiest ways to make money at low level would be to find a good faction war corp that is willing to help train new players. You can make very good money in T1 frigates running FW plexes, and learn to PvP while you're at it.

Fast income and mining do not really go hand in hand together; it's more of a lazy thing to do if you are unable to do combat or just have no interest in it, but the proceeds scale better with more alts unlike ratting (but that can take months if not years to assemble a good alt fleet of miners, so it's a tricky decision to make).

Notice the only guy making a positive remark, uses a collection of alts. Mining is not the fastest way to make ISK. It is the cheapest way to aquire minerals and nothing more.

Scamming is the easiest way to get big isk as a new player.

Ya, but it is pretty inconstant. And not really fast unless you get lucky. And you have to compete with all the other scammers, who are generally more experienced at making good scams than you.

Plus the high competition and general wariness of the experienced players, who have the huge hords of isk. Sure it can be fun, but I don't now about fast esp for a newbie. ymmv.

If that is what you enjoy though, go for it.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

I don't know about making ISK fast but I mined from the very beginning. Just got back into the game and I still mine. Granted its slow and can be boring but since I came back into the game just yesterday I've learnt how to protect my Venture with drones mad slowly learning how to PvP even if it is against Serpentis. I'm looking for people to join up with to go I to lower security space as my little venture is no match for Serpentis frigates let alone other players.

Mining I think is a good starting point to get some ISK and a new vessel or two. But mining and selling the refined materials is helping to get me ISK for a cruiser so I can go and explore null sec space.

Like someone said Eve is a sandbox. If I can get a well equipped ship and enough funds to keep me going I'll be off into null sec to be nosy. Might even try my hand at exploring.

Just do what you enjoy doing. Send me a message in game if you like and we can meet up. I don't bite any my little vessel has no weapons ;)

Hope I've helped.

Happy new year to all!

Aye, true enough. I was talking in absolutes. The kind of absolute where ore is 'free' Big smile
