Why do you think GTC and Plex prices are so expensive ?

GTC = Game time cards purchased through out side companies 1x GTC = 2 x plex - Sold in the forums under time code bazar
Plex = In game 30 day cards

I can remember the day that GTC's were between 750 and 550 mil isk then in 2009/2010 when they had the great bot purge the GTC went down. to 550m per gtc

Because of the costs of GTC I know several people who have left the game as they are no longer able to play all of their other characters off of GTC as it is so expensive.

I know we can buy FanFest tickets and other great things with Plex but this can't be what is driving the cost up?

I can remember when you could buy a GTC for 260m.

Then CCP made ISK worthless with some serious fountains of the stuff.

Less people wanting to pay real money to play the game drops the plex supply.

... a bunch went to the Phillipines... and something tells me they're not playing EVE. Roll

Otherwise, I'd have to agree that fewer people are using real coin to pay their subs.

Equilibrium doesn't mean a stable, unmoving price. It simply means that the price is balanced given supply and demand.

I think I used to pay around 330mil for 90day GTC back in the day and I thought that was expensive. Seemed like prices shot up a lot after I left for awhile than they made in game GTC's called PLEX and made the whole ordeal very easy compared to an annoying process with someone else over the forum.

Considering how easy it is to make high amounts of money, they're not that expensive at all.

Yeah but the ability to make isk is so easy these days, I made a new char yesterday and from the 5 tutorials alone I had 2 sigils, 2 mining frigs, 1 destroyer and 4-5 other frigates and about 3-4 million isk in 6 hours, back in 2003 it took me 2-3 weeks in high sec to purchase a thorax and skills to fly it.

isk is easier to get these days as a way of letting new comers close the advantage gap.

also same as real life inflation is a tool to keep people in a static position relative to those in power. The only way to increase your wealth really is to introduce negative inflation to your economy. Denial of plex purchase is one way. Doing your own mining and manufacturing is another. By dragging the prices of everything around you down a little bit at a time you make yourself richer by association.
