FOR ATTN: EvE Store marketing/management (I guess)

I'm currently going through the bullsh*t hoop jumping of trying to buy Amazon digital products from a country outside of the USA. (having to VPN stateside and use a fake address then hope my credit card doesn't screw me over)

Amazon are currently selling plex and game time for 15% off as a Christmas sale.

WHY is this sale not mirrored in the EvE account management? Where all capsuleers from all countries can access it most easily.

Why, as a paying subscriber who pays the same price to play as anyone from any other country (excusing serenity perhaps), am I prevented from accessing these lower rates at Amazon based on nothing more than my country of residence? A product that isn't physical and has no shipping or manufacturing costs to speak of.

True, this may be a result of a blanket digital products policy on the part of Amazon. But if this is the case then any sale on EvE digital items on Amazon need to be matched in price when buying the same item through account management.

EvE is a global DIGITAL product and should not be subject to prejudicial pricing based on country.

If you want a cool discount, just unsub.

Holiday return offer it's 9.95 for a month, until January 5th. Plus there's some offer on 1 and 2 PLEX which I haven't checked yet.

As an American every time I go to the pharmacy the pharmacist has me bend over the counter while he shows me, from behind, the price Canadians pay for the same drug. I don't complain though because he gives me some candy afterward.

Confirming Icelandic companies massively favor Americans.

OP, if you want American prices, go to the city of Reynosa, Mexico. There are some gentlemen there who will help you enter the U.S. You just have to cross a river (just like a stargate) and then get past me and my buddies. We have a little corp called la migra, part of the DHS alliance. We like to gate camp the river; we're the ones in green uniforms. If you get past our camp, you get to be in America and buy PLEX at the Amazon trade hub.

We also don't pod people who don't use offensive mods on us. We just web you and scram you and send you back where you came from. It's carebear dream pvp.

I'm confused...if a third-party retailer is selling items it purchases from the original retailer for 15% less than what the retailer is selling it for, then why is it somehow wrong? Seriously, would you entitled little Euro ***** stop being brats and act your gorram age?

Oh Good God. Get over it.

Even when retail chain stores have a "sale", the prices can vary even from store to store, locally.

Why are you expecting the Internet to act as a method of "uniform pricing for all everywhere" as part of a fair business model?

Sounds only like self-entitled whining.

Bytes weight more in Europe and so are harder to transfer in the EU than in the USA, this is why digital contents are more expensive in Europe.

I had this same question a few months ago so I called up amazon.com support to find out what the deal was.

The simple answer is that Amazon.com is a separate entity from other domains. The .ca, .uk, etc. domains are quite literally different companies within the amazon brand.

So CCP has effectively done this, by dealing only with certain domains, instead of trying to deal fairly across all of them.

On the other hand, who the hell wants to deal with multiple companies to do a single promotion? Amazon's structure is hardly ideal for this sort of thing.

I never did get an answer on giving fraudulent information to participate in the deal, but I did bring it up. The response from the call centre rep was basically "umm, well...".
