A question about character BIOs.

Bios are useful. They can tell you something about a person's personality within the game. For example:
Bio is thoughtful, erudite, well written: this person probably has enough intelligence that should you find yourself needing to negotiate in a hostile situation, it may be worth trying.
Bio is a list of favourite insults/snippets of chat log of people calling each other rude names: Probable griefer. Assume will be hostile. Shoot on sight.
Bio is a dramatic paragraph of stuff like "I am the bringer of Death, the hood of darkness etc etc": this person is a PvPer who takes themselves far too seriously. Less likely to gank industrial ships than the Probable Griefer. May be open to negotiation.
Bio is in Russian: player is Russian.

I started with a Bio to give flavour to my character.

Now it mostly reflects stuff I actually did in EVE.

Hey OP, why post on the forums? WHO CARES?

Heh, basically its somewhere to express yourself to others. It's also handy for misleading people into thinking you are an idiot / carebear / gullible moron while you hunt them down and kill them.

The biography field is a very useful surveillance tool. It allows us to make snap judgments about other capsuleers that could save our lives or ships.

Bio filled with:

Slurs against other pilots/ killmails: Probably a PVPer/griefer. Avoid.

Giant ASCII art of penii: Probably 12, mentally or physically. Avoid. Or torment with grammar.

Chat logs that are nonsensical to the casual observer: inside jokes, or things that were funny at the time. Meh.

Lists of damage types done by/done to enemy factions: Repetitious, but a player who understands the power inherent in that knowledge, and wishes to broadcast it to others. Possibly helpful.

Corporate slogans: drinks the Kool-Aid. Flies with the same group every day. Actually dislikes pilots of other corps. Possibly useful in a fight.

Short, well written story/journal/interview format with details from a first or third person perspective: Someone who actually enjoys some element of RP in their game. Probably helpful.

Long, painstakingly crafted story/journal/interview format that mentions multiple instances of game lore and/or other characters: Someone who is heavily into the RP elements of the game. Helpful, unless their RP is against your particular race/bloodline/nation.

Music lyrics: Depends on your taste in music.

Blank: Someone who just flies spaceships. Hard to tell.

Even the face palm compilation video is not enough for the OP.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

I agree with the OP. So far, I have yet to see a Bio that's actually been worth reading. Most people just copy-paste some random, insignificant chat-log that nobody else finds humorous, or insert a dozen links to all kinds of meaningless things, such as youtube-videos. If people are going to use their Bio, at least use it for something that means something.

I use to make Isk with my Bio, At one point when I use to wonder low sec on a regular bases. I had a short blurb about paying me to leave you alone. And occasionally random amounts of Isk from miners or ratters in low sec would show up in my wallet.

Your answer makes the most sense to me so far. Not, that I didn't read others of course. I did and I thank everyone for there responses.

So... how would you judge me by my bio? Just curious.

nsfw Oops

But as it has little bearing on any of the aforementioned categories, I'd say:

Graphic depictions of carnal acts: Mature RPer. Might cyber with you. Combat or game advice helpfulness: indeterminate.
