kiting LML's VS Rails

The problem with comparing LML and rails is that they are used for different situations. LMLs are great for kiting and applying damage over time. My personal use for rails is using antimatter. I do more dps than guns that out range me, and I stay out of range of guns that out dps me. LMLs apply damage better at the cost of DPS. That's like complaining that a tanky Maller can't kite like a Stabber.

Indeed,

Small rails are much better at scramkite brawling than actual kiting.

For that they are absolutely excellent.

The main issue as I see it, that hasn't been mentioned yet, re the hulls. Most lml hulls (read Caldari) have a shedload of mids and are often/best when lml's are paired with a TD.

There really aren't many slrt ships that can both hit reliably at range while disrupting a targets tracking or range, or even damping them out. This, among other first class benefits like, selectable damage types, defenders (the missles you can still fire even when jammed out), and in many cases insane range, are what put lml's on the top of the small kiting weapons heap imo.

Put that in your Slicers and smoke it.
