As stated training this toon to be all PVP and incursions so looking for the most versatile and highest dps I can get. I do understand they all have there pros / cons and it will be influenced by style . Any guidance would be appreciated as I'm seeing frigates destroy BC's so I know I'm not doing something right and the dps I see posted is usually twice my mains. Ty in advance.

An incursion setup is very different from a PvP one. The Fleet comp has a passing similarity, with logi and all, but the current PVP meta is pretty different.

For PvP, the most important question is will you be solo? The most versatile setups really only work in fleets. If your going to solo, the next question is where? Kiting frigs (faction/ceptors) can be really effective and are great at being able to pick a fight they can win. Vagas/Cynabals, and some of the Faction cruisers are great at killing over eager tackle from a fleet and then peacing out, but there is always the risk the tackle will be good enough, or numerous enough to hold you down till the fleet can own you. 100MN Tengus can still be good, as can pirate Battleships, but those are very expensive, and require much more player experiance to fly well.

Get ALL your core skills maxed out, especially your cap skills and shield skills (shield for HQ fleets and armor for VG fleets).
Once you've got your core ship/fitting skills, then think about what ship you want to end up in..

Machariel - snipe from 150km+ with 1400's, fast ship, easy on cap.

Vindicator - 'in your face' blaster boat with webs to help the drone bunny, cap intensive, can be squishy

Nightmare - lasers with quick change ammo for varying optimal range, cap intensive (usually needs cap buddy or cap Basi in fleet), very versatile due to fast ammo change and can apply max damage across a wide range

Bottom line.... max dps is Vindi, max range is Mach, max versatility is Nightmare.

Based on what your thread title says, I would suggest either the Vindi or Nightmare.
