What if this a phishing attempt to get me to go the site you want, how can we be sure, omg how can we be sure of anything? Maybe all of eve is a phishing attempt to hack my life, my god, it already my succeeded, my current state is only an empty shell of what it once was. EVE has "phished" my life away.

Also thank you CCP Nova for teaching us a cool word, where I can pretend in front of friends that I know stuff about computers and the connectivity. Alright you got me I don't have any, it is all of EVE's fault btw.

And I know I am rambling and way off topic, but why isn't it just called "fishing'???

Please add mobile phone verification capabilities AND iPhone code verification for those that wish improved logging security enabled.

RIFT has it, and its working nicely. Simple code generator that is required to be run by your iPhone while logging in, or be connected via iTunes to send a code to PC.

Can it be done?
I know I would never ever be hacked into again (lol to statement...)

Mobile phone verification... you'd need a system set up for every country that has players in EVE, or it rapidly gets prohibitively expensive. And mobile phones and smartphones are inherently insecure. They get accessed without authorization fairly easily and more often than people think (e.g. http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/Back-door-exploit-for-Android-phones-1131858.html).

I vastly prefer a system that uses a combination of player verified IP addresses that can be played from and verified machine IDs.

Funny how my notoriously conservative Banks like Deutsche bank and Hypo Bank and Intessa bank give me option to manipulate my private and company accounts via iPhone?

Please don't talk about things you dont know.

Apple app store has one option, the other goes with google android shop.
All apps would require CCP to start their end of coding for variable keys and i can be started to work instantly.
Apps are relatively simple to make (or source).

As I said, RIFT had it going easyly, so can CCP who employs some of the best.

I wish they would just do it since phishing and such activities are on the rise...

Nobody ever falls for this ****.

In other news, I'm offering a unique service. Send me your account name and your password, and I'll send you a password that is twice as long as your original one! Because I'm a caring member of EVE-Online, I am offering this service for free, and for the benefit of the community. My free time goes into securing all and every of your assets... in a way... you know :)

Much love, no hate, so amaze.

Dear Players

Players are increasingly receiving phishing emails from hackers who pretend to be EVE Online Customer Service. A common notice would be that your character is about to be transferred or that you are receiving PLEXs you supposedly purchased. Players are then asked to follow a link to confirm or cancel the "services." The link is a tinyURL named to make it appear you are accessing CCPs website, but takes you elsewhere.

This method of phishing uses a form of technical deception designed to make a link in the e-mail (and the spoofed website it leads to) appear to belong to CCP, when in fact it does not.

It is very important that you are aware of this and that you contact Customer Support whenever you receive suspicious emails that you do not anticipate. Do not follow any links, simply access our website and create a petition from there or send us an email to support@eve-online.com.

If you receive what you believe to be a phishing email please forward the mail to security@ccpgames.com. That way we can deal with the matter in order to prevent others from falling victim to this scam.

If you register to any corp or alliance forums or any other game related website, I suggest you use a different email that you use to for your EVE account. Hackers have been hacking into corp/alliance forums, retrieving a list of the registered users email addresses and sending members these phishing emails.

Please be conscious about security and that there are those out there that covet your "Stuff."

Yours truly,
GM Nova

how are they getting our e-mail addresses?
