Preferable EWAR

I have a question in regards to EWAR users in that, I myself have seldom used the various modules associated with and was wondering which does well on it's own without stacking multiples of itself to which I'm sure rules out the caldari variant. I personally use cruiser size hulls namely the thorax and it's counterparts, I know frigates have had great use of the tracking disruptor and have considered it, but given I have no skills for said module I do not wish to devote immediate time for something I have no experience with if another form of EWAR is better suited.

I tend to run brawler fits, though I would like at some point to mess with kiting fits, if there is an EWAR form more suited to one or the other I would love to hear and any information would greatly be appreciated, I have currently been using dual prop if I should stick with that do tell. But I would very much like to drop the ab to try something else.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but if anyone can sell me a particular EWAR type for thorax-like hulls it would be appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to mention I'm quite privy to using ec-300s and hobgoblins alternatively.

An extra web for blaster hulls. Then still a TD if you want, can be scripted and ECM is too much like the lottery.

i recommend that join some corp/alliance who can teach you basics, much easier that way.

I have the basics, it's just no form of ewar training, and given doctrines of my current group, dual webs seems preferable, given that I'll probably try the TD when I can. Thank you for your responses.

A web is essential for blaster boats, i would also use the medium size ecm drones,the vespas.

As for another ewar,tbh i wouldnt fit a td or a damp cause its kindah pointless,maybe a td if you fight a lone bs or a t3 but even then it wont do much good because of size and speed.

When ur brawling u are scrammed and webbed,that and beeing plated you will move so slow that a single td will not help.

A second web is usefull, a cap booster is good aswell,a tracking comp might also help.

Personaly i'd go dual prop scram web with either big plate or smaller with aar.

The last is what I have been doing dual props, just wanted to see what alternatives I could have to it, that said, and musing that i will likely be slowed to kingdom come in brawl range i can understand why in regards to TD's they would be useless, so thanks for that perspective. I personally don't enjoy using a second web when in gang usually there will be another.

TD or damp are useful IMO to protect against long range things like kiters or snipers. They will force them closer or out.

I would stick to the dualprop if you go with small gangs. As it will greatly increase your survivability and it makes it easier to get into perfect range for throwing some nice hot antimatter in the enemy faces.

However, as you said, it can be a good choice to include some ewar in the spare mids. Especially if you can get a few modules spread across the ships in the fleet. TDs can be great to reduce the damage taken. Especially if the enemy has some hardhitting ships you can mess with. But on the other hand, if the enemy has many small ships, the TD will not be much use. TDs will also mess with snipers and kiters.

Damps are great against logis and ewarships, but can also be great against kiters and snipers (but TDs are usually better against these). But you often need atleast 2 when they are unbonused, since 1 of them will rarely be enough to mess with a good logi. So if there are 2 ships or more, in your fleet that can spare a midslot then you could get a damp each. Damps are often used to force the enemy support to either have to get in close or just sit without being able to lock anything. You can also use damps with scan resolution script in combination with ECM drones. If you put a decent ammount of ecm drones on a logi and then damp him with scanres, you can often buy extra time when a jam lands as he will have a slow locktime. If the jams land with a fairly high frequency you can completely lock him out. The same trick can be used against dps ships.

So generally the choice of ewar depends on which tactical advantage you need. TDs are best for reducing incomming damage, while damps can be really great to counter logis and ewar. I would probably prefer to go with damps as they are most flexible, however if you are the only person with ewar then it is probably a better idea to go with TD.
