NEVER come to the forums crying about game mechanics after a lost fight. Come here to ask what you did tactically that lead to you getting killed, learn from that and get better. That is the ONLY solution to any loss related matter in EVE.

BTW, your tears are delicious.....hmm,,,,tasty....is that a snickers.Twisted

looks like a standard case of OGB favours me so it fine.

Lol do what i do and hide in high sec then you dont have to worry about this kind of thing but then there no game to play.

So let me just understand this. You want offgrid boosts nerfed, so that when you get into a fight, you get pointed, then his mate shows up on grid, but like 300km out, and burns in a giant orbit around you, giving you the finger while still providing boosts. Sound about right?

Moving them offgrid to ongrid is not going to solve anything. Get your own booster, or hunt theirs down.

You know there is a tool called dscan. If I would have a loki and legion on short scan I would immediately run even from a noobship.
But in big systems these funny boosters can even be 200au away. You almost never know if the other one has 8 accounts and is boosted to hell.
I have really nothing against implants. Smartbombers like Santo Trafficante balance it out. But hunting ogb is a bad joke. Almost no risk using them.
You kinda missed my point. The point is ongrid or offgrid really doesn't matter. They could be offgrid cloaked until you engage, or ongrid at 200km. It really doesn't matter which. If you started a 1 on 1, got points on each other, so you are both committed, then a booster decloaked 200km away, there's still nothing you could do to stop it. So the fact that it happens to be offgrid is clearly not the issue.

To be honest, it's not even just boosting. You could engage someone and their logi friend could warp in and start repping them from 60km away. A little frigate won't get to and pick though a decent logi before they get popped by their opponent. Or you could engage and their friends appear on grid and start shelling you with ranged weapons.

At the end of the day, if people choose to tip the odds in their favour by breaking it being a one on one, that's just tough luck. Complaining that offgrid boosting must be nerfed is just making it a scapegoat for the issue.

i dont really have an opinion about boosting in solo play but i will say this:

to put forth the idea that a ship several AU away from you is just as vulnerable as one 300km away is deceiving and plain wrong. boosting in general is getting some serious nerfs coming up with the end result being that ships will have to fly together if they wanna get bonuses. if thats 300km away or 100km we dont know. even still, there are ways to deal with a ship at 300k, like chase it off for example. a boosting ship that works from many AU away cant be chased off in the same way.

these problems go above and beyond the standard "save solo" and "isoboxer sucks" debates. its not just a solo issue, its not just a sad fat kid with 12 accounts issue. its a every-eve issue and it will be dealt with accordingly. when it is reigned in you can expect to see all these same folks come out on the forums with cries of "me and my 34 accounts are leaving eve cause you guys nerfed my toy". ah yes the jar will be filled that day.

just fyi and all that, ive never been killed by anyone using a boosting alt and ive never flown with anyone who uses a boosting alt. i play with real people, not robots.

Obviously the opinion of someone with such vast pvp experience should be taken very seriously.

You also missed the point. Even if OGB is nerfed and brought onto grid, these types of players would still complain and lose ships. Simply because people try and favour the odds their way and there will always be ways to do this in an MMO.

But I see your bias coming out a mile off, with talk of fat kids and robots.

armour astero will tank 314dps standing still. I use this one for tackling larger victims in wormholes Big smile

Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump II
Small Anti-Explosive Pump II

5x Hobgoblin II
5x Hornet EC-300
5x Warrior II

[Statistics - Mournful Conciousness, with EOS squad booster + overheated tank]

Effective HP: 6,906 (Eve: 6,115)
Tank Ability: 314.51 DPS
Armor Resists - EM: 83.23%, Ex: 75.92%, Ki: 78.20%, Th: 78.20%
DPS: 97.20
Max Speed (overheated AB): 1413 m/s

It's quite pricey, but even when webbed it will tank any normal ship. Just don't try it against vindicators or vigilants.

I had a dual rep version which could tank more, but cap management was too difficult when my opponent had a neut.

Also this is unlikely to happen because these linked guys are going to be too scared to bring their boosts on grid. They're pussies after all. If that does happen there will be a ton of booster kills to cloaked sb traps.
