Yes, I think you are right: must be Venus and a bit South South West having an angle with the Moon of approx. 145 degrees (not 180 degrees as I stated before). Maybe it caught my attention because it seems much brighter than normally; but there exist plausible explanations for Venus being sometimes brighter than normally. It also has the same size, so must be Venus (thus, one of the "usual suspects" as it often proves to be).
