I will never look at any of you the same again.

New boy in the neighborhood
Lives downstairs and it is misunderstood.
He’s there just to take good care of me,
Like he’s one of the family.

Spies in EvE
There all day and all night
Spies in charge
Of our wrongs and our rights

And I sing, I want,
I want Spies in Charge of me.

Spies in EvE
There all day and all night
Spies in charge
Of our wrongs and our rights

And I sing, I want,
I want Spies in EvE with me.

I think you're confusing news with speculation.

i read that article yesterday and thought "what a complete waste of taxpayer money". but then again, that's what our government is for, right?

personally, i think some of these government "spies" couldn't hold a candle to some eve players out there. Blink

That's probably what they're doing on EVE if they're here then, learning from the best.

Spies need love too, so they go to WOW and Second Life to ERP. They don't come to EVE, because when they want to scam people, they have their superiors and taxpayers.

In EVE we have Digi and that's already bad enough (First had experience welp). But then again the CIA already infiltrated goons years ago so... :tinfoil:

Like the man said, old news.

Spies like us & Why did NSA avoid EVE Online? both posted in OOPE yesterday, referencing yesterday's NYTimes article associated with your source and The Guardian's article.

FYI according to some news sources, Goons are the CIA/ an alphabet agency.

But what if...

the Goons actually infiltrated the CIA??

Idea

Meh, call me old fashioned but 'old news' has to be at least a week old before it's actually old. There are still people hearing about this, so it's not old enough. Also, I don't go to OOPE, even when my threads get moved there. It's like a graveyard...

Graveyards are scary.

I would answer that, but there's a black van parked across the street.

While failing to leave any fingerprints on the padlock, despite not wearing gloves.....

I'm less afraid of our "security" forces than I am of the local councils "health and safety" inspectors, those bastards will steal anything not bolted down and charge you for the privilege of being robbed by them, all under the guise of "what if".

I have to admit, if I was working at somewhere like that, I would totally try and convince my bosses that I needed to play games during my work time.

Are you sure about that?
There is a big difference between doing something for work IRL, and then doing the same for work in a game. One would assume you play to have fun / enjoy yourself / pass time, but if your work also are those things, you could work overtime. P

I'm pretty sure it would take a certain breed to actually want to apply their work unto a game more directly - although of course, if you have some skills that are desired (IT/tech, economy/bookkeeping, writing/diplomacy/negotiations, speaking/oratory etc are all valuable skills in EVE organisations and IRL jobs) you might see it as a natural thing to try and do what you're best at ...

siad this to a few people over the years

havin read a good few bio's by smugglers, their main weak spot is always comm's across countrys, especially when emergencies pop up

just think how easy it would be to openly talk about your shipment to another eve player!

all you need do in one face to face to arrange the codes, i.e trit=product, jita=uk, amarr=pakistan, imagine how detailed you could get. all hidden in all the rest of the trade chat!

these games are perfect for this stuff
