Crowdfunded PvP

Hello there everyone!

I'm StahlWaffe, known for being not very known at all, or in other words: Some random dude.
I love PvP. I'm still learning though. And many of you readers will probably know that you learn most by doing mistakes. In PvP, doing a mistake often means losing the ship you did the mistake with. And since I'm by no means a good PvPer, that also means in order to get better, I will have to flush a huge chunk of ISK down the drain.
Which leads to a problem: While I love PvP I hate all the mechanics that revolve around making the ISK to pay for it.
I tried several things earlier, I started out missionrunning and grinding up my standings to run Level 4s, which was actually pretty fun UNTIL I hit the standing, from there on I was bored in no-time.
So I started flying around in a Rifter in lowsec and came across the -now gone- static DED complexes. It was attracting: Thrilling 1v1s in cheapass frigates over several dozen millions of ISK worth in loot. I tasted blood, and I wanted more.
And CCP removed it from the game.
Adieu, Heild Thunderdome.

So here I am. Why? Because some Jita dude said I should try my luck here. What luck?
Well, the one where I try to find sponsors so I can fund my PvP endeavours on becoming a better player.

The whole idea was born in Dodixie on the late hours of 23rd of November this year. A random Double-ISK-Spammer annoyed me so much that I was about to block him. Instead I wrote something like this:

Quote:
Help a talented player on his way to the heavens of PvP! Donate today, become a Sponsor and get updates on kills and losses! Any amount appreciated, check my Bio!

I made ~5m ISK that evening while spinning my ship in Dodixie IX M20.
The next day i logged on and just dropped the same line again, with someone actually donating me a Hurricane hull.
I never expected people to really give me anything of worth, but there I was, having a Cane hull, and where's a nugget, there might be a vein.

I sold it, bought a Firetail, fitted it and headed into the Gal-Cal Warzone, ready to blow up some stuff.
I killed 7 ships and 1 pod, destroyed ~120m in ISK and docked up the firetail. I started setting up a mail to all my sponsors, in which I gave them a glimpse of what I was expieriencing with the ship they paid for.
And while i was returning victorious, some other dude sent me a good chunk of ISK and assets. You can see him in my Bio.
So yeah, all of a sudden i was able to ... afford a Dramiel.
So the next day I bought one, fitted it and headed off into the warzone. Just to be really disappointed, cause for some reason people are afraid of Dramiels but happily engage my Firetail any day. I did score more kills with it than with the Firetail, however I mostly caught AFK dudes, and only a Taranis put up a good fight which ended in a tie. We both felt that it was time to disengage.

So here's my pledge:

I want to do PvP and improve in PvP without all the hazzle of funding it. I want to log in, I want to undock and go hunting.
Here you come in: Feel free to donate me anything. By anything, i mean anything. All donations appreciated. If it's some ISK so i can take out another frig, fine. If it's a hull, fine. I'll take literally anything, and every donor will get updates on my roams.
I'd really love to forward the first 2 flightreports I made, however the mails are kinda long and get cut, but if you insist - I'll do it, just for you :-*
I repeat: Every donation appreciated and every donor will get updates. So if you feel cautious, send me 1 ISK, I'll put you on my mailing list, and you will get a copy of the next flight report. If you like it, feel free to donate more.

A list of the people who donated so far can be seen in my bio. Due to space running out I had to remove some of the sponsors, so everyone with a donation below 1m ISK is not in my bio anymore, but i got a note with all the names, and every single one of them will still get my mails.

So, more about me, both ingame and irl:

I just started college a week ago, so my playing time is farily limited. I will be online mostly between 19:00 EVE and 22:00 EVE.
I run EVE on a laptop back from 2k9, so I'm playing with all settings to lowest. This also means that right now I'm unfortunately unable to fraps or stream my PvP. However this is definately something i want to change.
For ingame, I will try to get good fights rather than easy kills. This also led to a loss i had today, and if you donate before 21:00 EVE, you should be in before i send out my next flight report.
With the general EVE players' attitude towards PvP (where killmails are everything, skills are nothing) i often have troubles in getting a good and intense fight. They just bring too many friends, or want to start the fight outclassing me drastically by shiptype already.
So what I'm also aiming at is getting a few people to roam with. Small gang, 2-4 peeps or something like that, and off we go into the land of darkness and death, also referred to as 'space'.
If you want, hit me up, I'm sure I we can form a gang and go roaming.

Right now I don't know what else to write, so yeah, feel free to ask me questions, drop me mails, whatever.
Oh, and don't forget to join my ingame channel 'Panzerbataillon'!

Now: Fitting another Wolf.

What's wrong with a Rifter? Cheap and effective, no outside money needed.

How are you going to appreciate what you achieved and learn from your mistakes if it doesn't hurt?

If you just want to "test" ideas and fittings, then there is a test-server called Sisi with plenty of free ships, and modules and isk, so I was told (I've never been there so .... I do all my testing on Tranquility with money earned by myself).

Frigate PvP pays for itself easily, a remotely successful frigate roam (solo) will easily cover several dozen losses through loot/bounty/ransoms.
A.k.a. stop begging and go shoot more ships Pirate

You're wrong, unless you actually care to haul your loot back to a hub after every single kill.

Although, I wouldn't ask for pvp funding in MD. It's somewhat similar to begging for money, to buy drugs and liquor, at Wall St.
