Ishkur v Fed Navy Comet

I had an epic draw and legit learning experience last night... redacted even got to cut their teeth with two combat resupplys while Jamwara was going head to head with a rail-fit Fed Navy Comet.

It all started with belt-hopping in Scheenins while looking for salvage and generally killing time in between scans with redacted. I was invited to a duel and immediately accepted without much regard for what they were flying... I figured, "Meh **** it let's do this!", you know? So in I go... the Comet immediately disrupts my warp drive, MWD's to 23km and begins orbiting @ 3400m/s.

At this point I was kinda regretting engaging yet another Comet :) I switched ammo types and starting eating his HobII's as he sent them in and called them back repeatedly. He ate my own drones as they struggled to keep up with him [was wishing for Warrior II's] and I should have watched them more closely. I overheated my AB and began to approach him and got within 15km before I sent my last two Hobs after him - that didn't work either.

At this point, 5-6m have gone by and I'm wondering if this is ever going to tip in my favor... a convo invite pops up and my target is waving and we start chatting about how I'm "going down sooner or later" **** THAT. It occurs to me that I will either run out of cap boosters or he will run out of ammo - my repper was keeping up with his DPS and he was out of drones....I set a 19km orbit around him and settled into the ebb and flow of our battle as best as I could.

I looked at my cargo hold and realized that I only had 7 cap charges left and this little devil on my shoulder reminded me that redacted had 30 charges in her cargohold ... I warped redacted in at 0km, jett'ed some charges and warped back out... this happened one more time before this ******* finally ran out of ammo.

My shields were at 0%, Armor was staying between 25-100% and at a few points there I dipped into structure with about 70% remaining. And then, he disengaged, and warped off having run out of ammo.

I have not been so happy to break even at any point in my Eve career thus far. **** was epic. I got to keep my hull!! "Good fights" in local, a few lulz and a "How dafaq did you not die?!" from the Comet pilot mwahahahahaha

Hopefully I never have to do this again :D Sorta...

Anyways, just wanted to share my fun-times from last night.

The takeaway from this was that it came down to my Cap Booster and his ammo stash ... not DPS.

I usually drop a depot and refit to stabs if a ship appears on scan that tends to be doing the orbit 20k afk thing.
Just play it safe, but congratz.

In the world of solo pvp people generaly tend to kite nowadays cause it lets them be more flexible and are more easy to dissangage if sh1t starts hitting the fan..though , my own personal feelings towards this matter i must say ,that, I FUCdhajdhdhdidhdj hate kiters, end.

Ishkur is on the short list of ships the comet can't really handle.

The res profile and the ability to project damage is just too much. I've tried numerous times but i've always had to disengage.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that. I'd always thought that the challenge of one of those fights was to get the kitey ship scrammed and webbed before they got out of scram range. Imagine all those fights that I had were I didn't have a 'run away' mod to save my little ship and KB stats. I guess I would also have to let them shoot first and get out of web/scram range since the stabs slow down my targeting ability. But hey, I can run away.Pirate

The Ishkur was downed by a Vengeance in an interesting duel with the illustrious James Rapture of Blackwater Federation :D I should have overheated sooner but I didn't and he got the best of me. Fortunately, this recent revival of our friendship is going to be so great!

Together again James, you and me. Forever <3

You can also refit after after you failed to scram him. There are no limits! Another thing is to fit a sebo when the guy comes on scan.

Today's success story: I was fighting a Fed Navy comet and had already my depot dropped. Suddenly a Navy Vexor and Stabber fleet issue land on close range scan, so I refit my Magstab and Energized Membrane to stabs and warp out. Luckily the comet didnt have two scrams!

Cool story and I mean that 100% non ironically.

Also dang I'm going to have to invest in a couple of these depots.
