If you liked that, my book, the The 50 Shades of Gray will set your pulse racing. Its a tale of a tawdry S&M romance revolving around my impressive sunglasses collection.

"I dont think that can happen, you can see Gray has his invuln field on in his portrait." - Commissar "Cake" Kate

I've heard the 50 Shades of Gray ladies' discussion circles are the super-bomb. That's where the real action is. It's hard for males to get an invite, though. I'm not sure whether they discuss the original 50 Shades of Gray or 50 Shades of Graygor. Anybody know?

Foreigner by C.J. Cherryh
http://www.goodreads.com/series/40807-foreigner

Her use of intense-first-person was really interesting.

Also, a little Urban Fantasy: Storm Front by Jim Butcher (first in the Dresden Files series)

If House played Eve: http://i.imgur.com/y7ShT.jpg

But in purple, I'm stunning!

Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban. Southern England some thousands of years after a nuclear war, reverted to the dark ages village sustenance-level life. People have knowledge of old tech, but the past has become mythicized. The political power guys convey their propaganda via travelling Punch & Judy-like show.

The whole book is written in a kind of corrupted illiterate English dialect:
On my naming day when I come 12 I gone front spear and kilt a wyld boar he parbly ben
the las wyld pig on the Bundel Downs any how there hadn’t ben none for a long time befor
him nor I aint looking to see none agen. He dint make the ground shake nor nothing like
that when he come on to my spear he wernt all that big plus he lookit poorly. He done the
reqwyrt he ternt and stood and clattert his teef and made his rush and there we wer then.
Him on 1 end of the spear kicking his life out and me on the other end watching him dy. I
said, ‘Your tern now my tern later.’ The other spears gone in then and he wer dead and
the steam coming up off him in the rain and we all yelt, ‘Offert!’
