Hi everyone, i'm gonna try to make this very simple and quick, but I know how I am, and this is gonna get long. But don't worry, it's also gonna be pretty organized, so skip to the part you're interested in if you need help ;)

Before reading this, know the following :

I'm about to record a video tutorial for all this, as it would be WAY WAY WAY faster and easier to explain everything with actual footage instead of explaining everything, but it would also be WAY WAY WAY shorter to explain than to type, because I tend to over explain. So yeah, links incoming in a future edit ! EDIT : Here is the link ! http://youtu.be/51HfR72CH4g

Intro

Okay so the reason i'm doing this is because i've spent a lot of time browsing the forums & the internet for my very " specific " needs. Maybe if I explain everything i've learned here and there, plus everyone's basic common sense, maybe this can end up being helpful to some people. My situation evolved with time (new monitor, new account, new monitor, new needs, bla bla bla), but this is basically what i've needed (at different times for different reasons that don't really matter here) :

- Larger in-game screen area so i can still see my ship and different windows. Like the cargo, the market, and just stop random stuff that one can find useful. I personally believe that Eve Online is not a game you can play comfortably on only one monitor. There is just too much information that you either need or want.

- Desktop space so i can have a brower open with different guides/info about whatever I am doing in a quest. This could include eve survival, clinic, or simply a movie, or just some music, a stream, the teamspeak channels and whatnot. Now you can always alt tab but i'm telling you this,i've been using 2 and 3 monitors for a while, and every time i had to go to work where i only have one, you can clearly tell how useful the second monitor actually is. It's more than a luxury, it's actually something worth paying for.

- Using multiple accounts at the same time (and obviously being able to look at both screens at the same time, because you don't want to alt tab and you really need to see what's happening with your alt).

That being said, it's pretty obvious what i'm gonna show here :

- Set up one extra monitor
- Set up two extra monitors
- Use one account on each monitor and keep the third one for something else
- Using one account on two monitors and the alt on just one monitor

With that, you'll be able to do things as you like.

Here we go.

Setting up one extra monitor for dual screen in game

So here you wanna have a wide view in eve, but not specifically use the second screen for other windows.

This is the " hardest " (and trust me this is ridiculously easy) part, so if you understand that, you're golden.

Start Eve, log in, go in the menu, and in the Display & Graphic settings.

Now you'll always wanna alt tab, so i suggest you don't use fullscreen unless you don't really care :

- Select Fixed Window
- Use the widest resolution
So if your monitors are 1920*1200, you'll need the one that is 3840*1200, because your monitors are the same height, but you want your game to go across two monitors. Pretty straightforward right?

Now you might encounter a problem : the game isn't on the right monitor. Save your prayers for another thay, here I am.

Just chose which monitor you want the game on with the " Display Adapter " setting. This represents every monitor plugged in, and for some reason, it's just named after your graphic card with the monitor number at the end.

Now you'll definitely notice another problem, everything is still centered, and therefore, right in the separation of your two monitors ( which i suggest should be really close to each other ). Well, thanks to CPP, there is a checkbox and a slider that you need to set up to fix that.

Still in the Display & Graphics, the second section, Ship View Camera Settings, you'll wanna check the box named "Offset Interface With Camera " and move the slider to the direction you want evertying to be moved to. For example, I want everything on the right side screen, so i'll move the slider to the right. What does that do? I moves the menu, the pop-up messages, and all the information on the bottom, like " Warp Drive Active " or " Keep at range : blablabla ". You'll have to find your exact number, mine was set a 70 on the right side.

I didn't move the Captain's Quarters Camera Settings because i never go there, but they work the exact same way.

That's it, you're set ! Everything should be working just fine.

If you need to alt tab, the "Fixed Window" setting puts your game in fullscreen mode, but also has the desktop loaded at all times, so it DOES require more resources from your computer but allows you to switch between windows really smoothly.

Now, let's get to the next bit.

Setting up the game on 3 monitors :

Now here it depends how you wanna do it, let's deal with the easy one first.

I want to have my game on the 3 monitors, fullscreen.

Fairly easy, just go in the options, select Fixed Window or Fullscreen according to your needs ( again, i suggest Fixed Window, and if you got 3 monitors you probably have a decent computer so it'll run smoothly anyway ), select the widest resolution. It would definitly be the very last one on the list (above 5K pixels wide). And here you don't even have to change settings because the game will be centered in your middle screen !
You might just have to select the right main monitor, on the " Display Adapter " option. If you don't know which monitor is which, just try them all, it's fairly straight forward.

Okay now I actually want my game on two out of the 3 monitors !

Okay, it took me a while to figure that one out but i managed to. And i couldn't find much help on the internet.

Basically, the game will always let you chose between Fullscreen resolution and "All monitors" resolution. So you're kind of screwed. There is a trick though. Select "Windowed" and actually drag the window how you like. You will notice that while you're dragging, the "Resolution" option is moving in the game, it's changing to what you're setting it to. Let's do the math :

Let's assume all your monitors are the same ( it works the same if they're not, but you'd crunch a bit of the image), of 1920*1200. Just multiply 1920*2, because you need it to be exactly as wide as your two monitors. You wanna make your window as large as that number (= 3840 pixels wide). Just drag the window, enlarge it enough so it's the exact width. Don't touch at the height. Now when you're about the right number ( seriously 5 pixels won't change anything ), move the window to where you want it to be, select " Fixed Window " and bam, you're set. It works the exact same as the other one, but you had to set the resolution yourself. You won't have to trouble yourself doing that when CPP includes that in the game, but for now, you do.

Also, you might wanna go in the properties of your windows taskbar, (right clic) and tick " Auto-Hide ". I don't really know why (and i haven't tested it), but i believe that IF your mainscreen is NOT the one with the taskbar, the "Fixed Window" display mode won't hide it. In my case, the middle screen is the second one (my game appears from left to right), so it stays visible, so i had to auto hide it. It's really the exact same, and its actually easier when i wanna reach it.

So, to make it simple :

Quote:
-Select display mode as "Windowed"
-Drag&drop until you reach your resolution
-Move the game to the correct screen ( with the correct display adapter set up )
-Change display Mode to "Fixed Window"

There you go. Your third screen is still usable for either another account (obviously with only one screen so, it'll end up being something very simple and secondary, but still avaible) or just web browsing :)

The cool question is :

How do I start another Eve account on that third screen? (or second screen if you want to use two accounts on two screens)

Now this is tricky and annoying if you have 3 screens, because every time you leave EVE client, its settings are saved in the registry as the last saved. And that's gonna be annoying, but i'll come to it in a minute.

First things first.

How to start multiple EVE Online clients?

Quote:
-Start Eve online, and with the launcher, log-in to your account. Doesn't matter which.
-Once in game, alt tab, and on the launcher, clic " Switch account "
-Enter your login details and log into the game
-Bam, there you go.

But, hey, moron, my two games overlap? I know. This can't be changed as far as I know, but i've found a workaround. See, the settings are applied to the current ACTIVE client, but not all. It's still saved in the registry when the game closes so whatever you change in the options LAST will be how the game starts next time you start it.

So now, you change the Display settings of the game you want to move (aka : select the resolution and display adapter), and you're good to go. The first one should appear from under the second one (that you just moved). You can still do any changes you like. The next time you start the game, it'll start as the last options you applied.
If you have two monitors & two accounts, that means one account per monitor, so they'll both start on the same, just edit settings in one of them, pew pew, it's done and over until you log off. It takes about 10 seconds to set it up for me. And I have to do the whole " Windows mode resolution drag and drop " stuff.

Once this is set up, you're good. If you've read this all and understood everything, you should be able to think by yourself and apply it to your situation ;-)

Don't forget what i've said above, video coming soon with images & spoken explanation. Easier to follow i guess. I'll edit the link when it's done & uploaded ! Edit : here it is ! http://youtu.be/51HfR72CH4g

Hope you enjoyed it, hope it was useful, and whatever happens, worst case scenario is that i might have spent some time ( i wonder how much ) typing for no reason ! :D

Of course, any feedback or questions are most welcome. I'll probably edit it all to make it look better after i've posted it. Feel free to point out mistakes ;-)

I think your issue with multiple accounts and settings being saved in the same registry can be fixed with a workaround explained on evelopedia: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Multiple_clients#Method_1_-_Junctions

By making a junction and two separate shortcuts you have basically two registries so you can keep separate settings for each account. (I think you can also make a third and fourth junction if you have more than 2 accounts)

Thanks for explaining the method to get one account stretched over 2 monitors, I'll test that later today to see if it works for me. I saw it on youtube once but he had an amd graphics card and he could link two monitors together to be detected as one single monitor, I could only link all three or none with my nvidia driver. Using windowed and switching to fixed window might get it working without having to link any screens!
