what are the skills i need for this?
how much is it going to cost to get all the parts for a pos?
what kind of low skill ship i can use to move the parts and to set up?

i think thats all the questions i need to ask, if im missing stuff please help :)
thanks

Edit: i should probably say what i want to use it for

Holding loot.
home.
leave ships inside.

For skills, Anchoring III covers all POS modules I am aware of.

The control tower comes in small, medium, and large, and you need to figure about 50M, 100M, or 200M for the tower.

Corporate hangar is about 3.5M, Ship maintenance array is around 13-13.5M. Weapons typically sem to be about 3M-5M each..

For ship, a T1 hauler which can hold 10,000 m3 is sufficient for hauling the pieces.

Two questions to go along with this. Where do you want to put it? That will determine more of which pieces you will need.

And why is a station not sufficient? Not only do you have the above setup costs, but also an ongoing (to the tune of 370 million / month or so for a large Caldari tower) fuel cost.

If you're wanting to use it for a non-wh home, and only for loot holding, you may find it is a lot more hassle than it's worth.

^^ This.

If this is in hisec, a small tower is OK, but you need a minimum of 5.00 standing with the faction whose space you want to put the tower in.

If this is lowsec, a small tower is essentially an appetizer for a roaming gang who can pilot capitals.
If this is nullsec, well... it depends on how the owners of the space feel about you setting up your own tower.

In all three instances, you will need to have some roles granted so that you can anchor and configure the POS modules. These roles generally will also allow you to **** with any other POS owned by your corporation ... so you may not be given the roles to set up the tower...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Yeah, definitely go for a Large if it's not going to be in high sec (or relatively secure 0.0 space). A solo dread pilot can easily tear down a small/medium tower, so you really need a large to make them think twice.

For a large tower in a w-space, you need to think about:

- 200M for the large tower
- 700M for the first two months of fuel (tower holds about 3 weeks of fuel)
- 50M for stront
- 400-500M in defensive modules (hardeners, e-war, guns, tackle, webs, etc)
- 100-150M in ammo
- 100-300M for labs / arrays / SMA / corp hangar
- 50M for (5) POSpreys

Which is around 1.5-2.0B ISK worth of assets on your initial gamble of breaking into w-space. And you're talking multiple hauling trips to get all that in and setup.

Very few people should get "config starbase equipment" role. A few more can get "starbase fuel technician" (those who you can trust enough to bring 150M - 250M ISK worth of fuel into the w-space on a bi-weekly basis. Anyone who has Anchoring V and Starbase Defense Management trained to III or higher can be given "starbase defense operator" without too much risk.

Seriously - don't give out "config starbase equipment", ever.

With hi-sec towers you can on/offline them as needed. I generally online one to do a bunch of copying (for invention), and then offline it after a couple of days. This keeps the fuel costs down. You can spew out a large number of blueprint copies in 1-2 days.
