Grouped Weapons Won't Fire

I've been seeing a new issue for the last few days. It has made the game completely unplayable. I can fit a ship (say a Brutix) and individually load each gun in the station. Each gun has the same type and quantity of ammunition. After undocking, I press "group all" and the guns group up normally. I have plenty of powergrid and none of the guns are damaged from heat (although I've seen the same issue with damaged guns as well and initially thought that might be related--nope).

When I fire, they appear to cycle normally--but only one gun deals damage. My guns stop firing after one gun has exhausted its ammo, and although nothing is visible on the UI suggesting it (i.e. the stack appears to be empty), my ship drops extra stacks of ammo (ammo from those guns that didn´t actually fire) when it is destroyed.

I´ve tried repackaging the guns and loading them one-by-one or as a group. I've tried grouping them in-station or in space. It makes no difference-when I fire, only one gun works. I´ve also nuked my cache and settings and the problem persists. This has only started some time in the last few days--last week I had no issues.


Has anyone else seen this? Is there some kind of workaround? I can't really play the game at this point. I did create a bug report (118080), which contains the same information I've posted here.

[Edit: Nuked and reinstalled the entire client. Still broken. Also, ungrouping and then clicking on the modules individually will fire them as normal.]

Does this happen on all ships or just your Brutix? If it's just your brutix i recommend you repackage it and re-fit it.

I've done that repeatedly. I've also repackaged and re-fit the mods to no avail.

I have seen this happen on three different ships, all of them brutixes. For now the only workaround I've found is to mash the F-keys frantically.

[Edit: I've also seen everything work perfectly on a catalyst and on a thorax--I am at a loss as to what's going on here or what the connection is.]

Something similar to this was happening to me during the time when a patch had made it so boarding a ship from a ship maintenance array ungrouped your weapons. When the weapons would become ungrouped you could hold shift and drag each of the turret/launcher buttons on the HUD onto one another and they would seem to group up but upon opening the fitting window you would see they were not in a group and when fired only one turret/launcher would fire. This seems pretty similar but it's not the same problem, I can't reproduce the bug I've described or the one you describe either. Only suggestion I can make to you would be to group the weapons while in their unloaded state, grouping loaded weapons used to be impossible not very long ago.

That's what I was doing, actually, as someone in corp suggested trying the same thing after I figured out what was happening. Fit in station, group weapons (via shift-click-drag on the empty guns) and then drop ammo on the group. Everything looked fine until I undocked and pushed the fire button.

I found a reference to the same (or similar) bug from two years ago, but the user who reported it said repackaging everything fixed it (it was related to re-using guns that had previously been grouped). That hasn't made a difference for me.
