Midwinter Gaming Convention - Milwaukee, WI, January 16-19th

Good Morning Eve Players!!!

As always it is time again to post about Midwinter Gaming Convention, Milwaukee, WI eve meet up!

Event hosts - Wr3n from PL and my self Suldaric from nulli

This year looks to be a amazing year of folks coming in from all corners of the usa and maybe farther out.

So heres the details of the liver testing thursday-saturday night "sundays for recovery" event.

Location - HIlton @ Downtown Milwaukee, WI
When - January 16th - 19th
Convention - Larps (youll even be able to try out a one shot weekend of the new world of darkness for a sabbat game), table tops, etc etc

Whos coming - I am up to about 8 individuals from Martyr's vengence so far, I know a few n3 folks lives in Wisconsin or around, hoping others come. A friend in PL comes every year to the convention.

So what do you do if your coming? - Let me know in game, if I get enough folks maybe CCP will come up? Come drinking? Send goodies to help us embrace our inner 6 year old selfs?

Convention size - a few thousand people come to this
cost - I believe rooms with the room block is 104 a night, you can fit like 6 people "maybe 7 with person in tub? haha" its a convention, if you have done gen con or any other one you know how it works.
Convention badge cost - 35 bucks preorder for the weekend, this is to get you in and access to everything going on.

Either way folks come get drunk with us, there is amazing food here in Milwaukee, going to try and get a miller brewery tour done also. I believe there is shuttle from the airport "MKE is the milwaukee airport name" to the hilton.

Examples for food places near the hotel
All you can eat sushi/chinese buffet lunch 12 bucks, dinner 22? friday/sat this has all you can eat crab/fresh oysters
Rodizio brazialian steakhouse
Korean restaurant - lunch buffet is like 9 bucks
Thai restaurants
Pakistani restaurant that is amazing
plus 100's of others, its milwaukee folks we like to eat and drink.

Let me know in game with a email to Suldaric if your coming, if you need hotel space to share with someone "we have a few guys looking for roomies to split costs"

Confirming that this is a great gaming convention to go and hang out with friends at and party! Been going to it for the last ten years or so now and it keeps growing in size. CCP usually sends representatives for the White Wolf side of things too.

Comeon Midwest Folks! Heck Comeon people from all over, if I can get 15 corp mates from Martyr's Vengence to traverse the globe to drink in milwaukee so far, you can come test your livers and have fun also! Comeon Old/Ex Testies, comeon Goons, I know there are many of you that sure as hell hate a few of us, come drink and be merry!

So update, Starkid is coming to the gaming convention http://www.teamstarkid.com/ check them out, they are hysterical.

Eddy Webb (who happens to also be a content designer for ccp...) is going to be there already also in a non ccp role..

Shane Defreest and Jason Carl of By Night Studio's will be also at the convention showing off the new world of darkness larp edition

Also one of the coolest individuals to ever have a chance to sit and talk to will be there again Jason Andrew

I will be attending. Also, for those that don;t know, there is an award-winning upscale geek bar in Milwaukee, called 42 lounge.

They are working closely with con, and have a booth there. They will be having con-related drink specials, and most likely shuttles running to and from the bar to the Con. The bar itself is walking distance from the Hilton as well.

Check it out!

Confirming Suldaric is correct about the food and drink. Milwaukee born and raised, let me tell you there are a lot of great bars, restaurants, and tucked-away hidey-holes to see.

So looking at 20-25 attending now, we also have a eve panel going on for people that dont play eve or are new to eve to ask questions from veteran players, and questions about dust.

Saturday 17th, 9 am - 9:50 in whatever room is the AV presentation room.
I am expecting all of MV and a few others to still be drunk from the night before.

Might do a sacrificial carrier doomsdaying....

Just putting it out there, if you want someone on your panel for the token 'woman in Eve' stuff, I would be interested. I've been playing since 2006 as well.

I'll be driving up Friday morning sometime, dinking around and then regging at the door. I'll bring a few Goon shirts as to be easier to spot...

I had so much fun.

The panel was much more relaxed than I expected it to be and the few people that had never heard of EVE before seemed pretty interested.

Probably would have been better if all of us weren't out drinking until 4am the previous morning.

Nice to meet you all and I know us from the MV crew will be going again next year!
