1 Bhaalgorn or Armageddon fit to kill a dead can do it slowly.

Ok what I'm really trying to workout is the number of BSs we'll need to hold off a null sec capital assault force when CCP finally jumps off the slippery slope and lets the null sec alliances take sovereignty over empire space, just after CFC has finished off the Northern faction and is null sec.

Since it takes 12 days to built a dreadnaught from a basic blueprint high sec is going to have to fight with sub-capital ships as CFC marches into Jita and Amarr to take over the EVE economy. At least in Amarr they might be able to use the Veldnaught in the defence of the system, in Jita we'll be stuck with conventional ships and throwing the chat scammers at them. Either way its going to result in attritional warfare

They are going to round up all the highseccers into Sansha camps. You better be prepared, I don't need to. I am safe in Low-Sec, no CFC here!

Such a good derail wasted outside of general discussion :(

Answer to OP is 1 battleship in 1vs1 if fitted to kill a dread with no interference. If dread is fitted to fight a battleship in 1vs1(downgraded weapons) you can bring a bhaalgorn, which should in theory do the trick vs. anything any dread can pull off. If warpstabs are allowed I don't think any BS can kill a dread which can refit on mobile depot between close range neuts, self repair and capacitor, and stabs to bail out.

Three BS'es can kill a dread regardless of the dreads configuration, if the dread is stranded (no docking/ pos shields). This is because three BS can keep dread pointed and cap warred outside it's web range while cap chaining, while sporting enough warp disrupters to keep point vs. 6 stabs.

As the open question takes officer tank into account, cap warfare is required to kill a dread with few battleships. Officer web range has to be considered as well, otherwise the dread can simply siege and blap with 3 webs and tp's. Drones succumb to smartbombing configurations (mobile depot refit) and are sub optimal.

I'm sure something is left unconsidered, fill in.

Also don't forget that CFC has been using stealth bomber siege fleets. No need for dreds in the (snort) unlikely event that you get your wish. Besides CFC is strictly acting as a chummy third party in the current festivities, no need to worry over so grinds in high sec.

Furthermore I would be much more worried about a RvB or Uni take over of high sec. They have been organizing and recruiting for years getting materials and assets in place. Clearly something sinister is going on there with such organized operations. :tinfoil:
