I'm not sure why they are reimbursing AUR for it.

Since they are, it's safe to assume they believe taking this away is reimbursable.

Therefore, should there be nothing else worth buying with AUR, they should reimburse the purchase of AUR as well.

Though, what would you do if EVE advertised a big blow out sale for game time codes and then shut down the servers the next day?

Bad analogy

Balancing != shutting down the game
Removing some BPO for modules that will no longer exist in game, and reimbursing players for the AUR/ISK spent in obtaining said BPO != shutting down the game

1/10 for effort, try again but with less hyperbole next time kthxbai
