What ships have you lost to NPC rats?

Well, I've lost my first Omen (which I've got from that CCP's 2012 newcomers program, I think) to hestitation to warpout in relatively tough lvl 2. But that's ok.

It was a lot more hilarious that I've lost a s**t-fit Legion in an L4 mission despite the fact that I had some knowledge on how not to s**t-fit it, and having no excuse of being new to the game.

The reason I'm posting about this embarrassing loss is that at that point I've realized that my care-o-meter didn't blow up over that loss and so it actually made me to go and try piloting through low and null (in a much cheaper ships ofc) to find something else to do in EVE.

Sometimes it is tedious, sometimes it's exciting. At any rate, EVE experience isn't full without such trips (at very least go and do those pirate arcs, dammit!). Thanks to that digital Gurista a***ole who blew up that failfit Legion (reminding me that there's an "overheat" button btw; should've mention that), and of course to all the low/null guys who make the game what it is, among other contributors, both more and less obvious.

Merlins, Condors, a couple Cormorants, nothing special.
Most notable was a Caracal to COSMOS rats.. didn't know they could be so powerful back then!

Other than that, I've yet to lose a valuable ship to NPC's... I'm very cautios. Last time I wasn't cautious while ratting I lost a Raven to gankers (damn rubicon frig warp speeds, although it was primarily my fault for not getting rid of npc scramming frigs first), so in the future I will be even more cautious :D

Need more well-formatted linking.

I lost a Manticore to Blood Raider rats.
I lost a Hawk running The Blockade.

It's pretty embarrassing to lose a ship to rats, I don't know why I'd admit to it on this forum and yet I have a strong feeling that some of you have had far more embarrassing losses than my few little frigates. Now you must admit to your failures so everyone can discredit the validity of your opinions on GD based on how much ISK you have lost to rats.

Bah, i am the king of losing stuff to NPCs.

Lost a Machariel in a 10/10 once (when the guy tanking DC'd, I suspect conspiracy).

Lost a Tengu in a level 4 mission 3 days after they introduced tengus (who knew you couldn't armor tank them and put autocannons in the highs, ok J/K but it was almost that bad). Lost a navy Raven in a plex where my old CEO was SURE he could tank it lol. Lost a Loki in a low sec Cosmos plex.

I just can't keep nothin alive. I was playing chess with my cousin last night and out of the blue my Rook exploded. WTF?

Not to long ago in one night on separate character accounts I lost a Drake and a Myrmidon. It was not a pleasant night.

I got cocky with the drake and was trying to rush and get done cause I was falling asleep. and at the same time trying to finish another mission with the Myrm got stuck and couldn't warp out when wave after wave kept shooting my ass..

Let me guess, even in this case, the logs did not show anything right? Cool

once lost an ishkur because I thought it could handle the damage in recon part 3 (lvl 4). It couldn't.
Lost an Ishtar to the EM smartbomb in guristas military complex.
Lost a tengu to the webbing frigs in the angel 8/10.
lost an ibis that was carrying a t2 cloak because it couldn't fight 0.6 belt rats with civilian stuff.
nearly lost a domi wtih deadspace hardeners in a sactum because I forgot to turn the hardeners on (warped out w/ 3% structure)

I think there's another ishtar loss in there somewhere but I'd have to check the kill record.

Lost a rupture to some sansha's when helping someone run a site...Ironically whilst telling him to always be aligned out in case the NPC damage gets too much to handle. Derp.

I also recently lost a drake to a serpentis DED site which I had no business running. I was so sensor damped I couldn't even lock the things tackling me before it exploded. I hate drakes.

This thread is making me very nervous about flying my new PvE legion next week...

I have a very peculiar, newbie story that *came close* to losing my pants but in the end it incredibly did not.

When I started trading, I decided to buy a bunch of T2 cov ops at Hek and go sell them at Jita for a profit.

I invested a TON in that (for a newbie that is).

Despite being in FW against Caldari + Amarr NPCs and players (of course they often come visit in hostile empires) I happily took up an hauler and loaded it choking full of those ships.

Then I somehow arrived to Sivala and oddly enough nobody popped it. I got NPCs chasing me around but I had a newbie smartLol plan!

In the mean time I had another alt come with another hauler from Jita. We were meant to meet at a planet in Sivala and exchange the ships.

Needless to say, I ejected all the ships before I realized the pesky suckers did not create cans! They magically inflated and became assembled! All of this while being chased by the faction police.

What the hell to do? I could not scoop them with my Jita alt and... I could not even hop in and pilot them. I checked my skills and I'd have had to train for 23 days just to be able and hop in the unfitted hulls.

As smart newbie(tm) I started asking for help in local (me being war target and all my ISK being in those ships) and even offering to pay ISK Attention if somebody could help me take those things to a station.

(Luckily) Nobody cared to reply. So I went off, bought the skill books and started training them.

As smart newbie(tm), nothing easier than just waiting it out, with a whole fleet of tasty T2 unpiloted ships sitting at a Sivala planet for 23 days.

23 days later I came back there... and they were still all there! I can't fathom how that would be even possible. But hey, there they were. So, - faction police still brushing my ass - I went there and piloted them all one by one into the station.

Then I picked them with my Jita alt and once again, I passed all those 0.5 - 0.6 sec gates to Jita with all that stuff without being ganked and got them to Jita.

To end it even better, in those 23 days the prices were risen even more, so it actually ended up being a good deal! P

WOW

As for my personal loss, A few ranging from cruiser to faction BS usually because of misstakes followed by losing control of the situation followed by initiating a warop out too late and crashing in a structure around 74% speed and thus not warping.

Yes I actually failed like that more than once.

My first Merlin because I hadn't gotten the grasp of resists and active tanks yet. Cry

My first Ishtar because I fitted it with EM hardeners rather than explosive ones. Oops

I lost a Legion to Guristas rats in Null-Sec. . .while I was offline.

I have no idea what actually happened. . . After a night of ratting / running anoms, I warped to a POS and logged off. The next morning, I logged in to a pod. I checked the loss mail, and I had lost it less than an hour before I logged in to rats. ( I would have been sleeping at that time.)

I confirmed that my account wasn't compromised, no record of me being logged in at that time.

It wasn't warp scram rats, because I was inside the POS shield, when I logged off and when I logged in. No bubbles near the POS either.

Lost an Algos once in cargo delivery 2. I usually do the rats in that mission. That night my phone rang and for a short moment I was distracted and double clicked in the wrong direction. Next frig spawn was right on top of the Algos. It didn't take long Lol.
