Active Shield Hardeners

used to benefit (iirc 3% per level) from the Shield Compensation skills. I have been out of the game for about a year so I did not know this had changed. I un-docked from a station and checked my ship's stats and thought something was wrong. Then I checked my compensation skills and saw the wording now ommitts any reference to active hardeners.

So my question is was this an announced nerf? When did this change happen? Did anyone hoot and holler about it? Did CSM make waves, or did bend over?

A little history or rationale on this change would be appreciated.

IMO it should have only been nerfed for invulns, since an offline invuln was giving 15% omni resist, which was a bit over the top. and 15% on a single resist for an offline hardener isn't a big deal.

But they removed it for all active hardeners.

Some people cared a little bit.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

Ok here you go.

It's an 'active' hardener, why the hell should it get a passive resist bonus as well?

Looking at some of your recent posts. I'd say stop whining about how your stuff has changed and start learning the new game, it is vastly different from when you left.

I agree with the removal, it has abit over the top, Invulns are already one of the best modules in the game and this nerf still hasn't changed that.

I bitched about it a little. because it came in with a Drake nerf and a Heavy Missile nerf, all around the same time. Kinda felt like Caldari pilots got shafted, big time.
Armor tanks have the EANM, and I always figured the Invuln was the equivalent.

But... whatever. Adapt and overcome, and all that jazz.

Other ships got nerfed too, Canes, Geddon is a Drone ship now, etc, etc.

I still remember training those compensation skills. Along with the learning skills. What thay have in commonb is that they took a VERY long time and the payoff made them woth it to me. Is why I asked these questions.

Hoping the next sentence in that line of thought isn't "I got SP back for the learning skills, where's my SP for the shield comp skills?"

As I recall there wasn't an in-depth explanation of the change, just basically a "we think this makes more sense". Which is true, but yes, it sucks that they made 4 skills more or less worthless but for certain niche fits. (And the damn things are in all the shield certificates too.) If you want more details, one thread was already linked, and I'm sure there was more debate in a more official thread in F&I somewhere.

I strongly suspect you have no idea what pleb actually means.

And no none of your post have any merit from someone who obviously thinks highly of themselves yet can't be bothered to catch up on the changes of the last year or so.

If you want to pull your head out of your arse and actually look you can find the changes pretty easily and yes there were a few people who opposed the changes (mainly pathetic lazy people who can't adapt IMO) but their arguments are also there if you are willing to put some effort into it.

Try harder. Roll
