EDIT: It seems that updating to the new AMD drivers (13.12) fixed this for the most part, there's still the occasional micro-stutter in DX11 with AA on High, though. It's nowhere near as bad as it was, thankfully.

Stuttering issues here too, as well as low FPS with the DX11 client (Around 30FPS compared to 90 in DX9). Moving the camera around seems to make it worse, it feels like the camera is 'catching' on something - if that makes sense. I'm not sure how to explain it. I'm running in a fixed window, and switching anti-aliasing from High to Medium seems to lessen the problem though it still persists. The funny thing is, I didn't have this problem until I re-installed a clean version of Windows last week. Running the launcher with Steam or without produces the same results, and I have the Steam overlay disabled.

I was going to post that this happened to me again today but then I saw this post about new AMD drivers. Has been occurring once ever few days to 2 or 3 times in the same day. Installed new driver and I'll see if this helps.

I have also been experiencing low FPS and stuttering with the launcher set to DX11. Average FPS for one client is 27 in windowed mode and 40 fps in fixed windowed mode. When I set the client to interval immediate FPS raises to around 47 but still has visible stuttering. These are reduced by half for each subsequent eve client I run, oh the pain at my usual three.

When the launcher is set to DX9 my single client runs at 60 FPS at interval one, three at 30 FPS each, and 150 at interval immediate. With no stuttering this is now how I play multiple clients.

My PC

Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD FX6300 @4.4Ghz
16Gb DDR3 @1600Mhz
Sapphire Toxic 7970 (Catalyst version 13.12)
All drivers are up to date with no conflicts.

This started with the rubicon release, DX11 is the way forward (allows two 7970's in crossfire in widowed modeBig smile) so please get this sorted so we can enjoy the benefits.

I reset my screens to full and then back to windowed this fixes the issue for me but has to be done every time.

Please confirm this works for you as well.

My solution:

I used to change game settings: Interval one to Interval immediate. It fixed my lag problem but caused CPU temp raise up to 86c
NOW i changed *Windowed or Full screen mode setting* from Full screen to Fixed Window and leaved Interval to Orig (ONE)
No more lag n game runs fine.
Also i can leave setting to full screen mode and press Alt+Enter for window mode n game runs perfectly.

What i noticed extra that before in *Full screen mode* my game colors were bit Blue'ish.

The Sisi client caused a hard crash to a empty window for me. Now I cant even see the character selection screen it wont render but the esc menu does when pressed. For those having issues down loading Sisi and testing the new build might be a good idea.

It appears to me that turning off "HDR Enabled" solved my stuttering problem and I can open as much as I can of account simultaneously, I can't remember if this feature was available pre Rubicon or not but only thing that I can remember that everything was maxed in graphics settings and never had problem till expansion. just for the record my graphic card is AMD 5870 with latest drivers 13.12.

P.S. switching between DX 11 and 9 doesn't affect anything, for me at least.

Glad to see I'm not just unlucky! I did everything to solve the issue, that is atrocious, at least for me... with v-sync on (or interval one) I got 60fps with everything maxed out at 1920x1080. However it would fluctuate to less than 20 or single digit or even stop for a moment. When I'm lucky, a couple of seconds and no frames. So I got rid of all bling, and lowest resolution, nothing solved. No v-sync and that improved it, as now it fluctuates from 160 to 20... Or 0, but the average is more playable. By chance turned off eve voice, things got more reliable. The kicker? All this inside the station, so without any excuse like tons of drones on screen. Outside things are a little more shakey, but you know: outside.
The system isn't a beast, but it clearly works: Athlon X2 450, 8gigabytes of ram, ssd (Samsung 430), nVidia GTX 560 (not the TI one) Faildos 7 @ 64 bit
CPU might or might not get upgraded this month, but that's another matter altogether.

I get an annoying dramatic framerate drop in the jump tunnel animation. Easily repeatable for me - just jump. The framerate always looks like this with a double or triple stutter, with always two during the tunnel animation and sometimes one while loading grid: http://i.imgur.com/uQFISpX.gif

This occurs on both my new Dell Precision M4800 and my desktop with SLI GTX480. Occurs in all window modes. All graphics options are turned to lowest possible. It occurs in both DX9 and DX11 modes. I can provide dxdiag logs (or whatever) if it would be helpful although the laptop dxdiag only sees the integrated card instead of the dedicated. I would like to know what the bottleneck is.

It is irritating. I would love to be able to turn the animation off just because of this. Does anyone NOT have a similar stutter during the animation? What is your hardware?

I have the same problem, frame rates drop from 60ish to low teens or even single figures if I'm multiboxing. My hardware is above.

I still have not found a solution to low frame rates when the launcher is set to DX11, in fact after a few patches I have found performance in DX9 has dropped as well.

Any Dev's/GM's want to weigh in here?

Was running a XFX Radeon 7870 2g and have always ran eve just fine, with high frame rates and 3+ clients. Only thing that would happen is increased fan noise.

I installed a PNY GEFORCE GTX 770 2gb today and I have loads of stuttering. At first I wasn't sure what i was seeing but its there. Every 1/3 to 1/2 second is a stutter or mulitple stutters. First thing I did was update to the newest drivers that seemed to make no difference.

Hope the problem is fixed soon. I'd hate to have to NOW have problems with a new card where as I had none before.

I have the same issue as well. Multiple clients in fixed window mode with 2 or more displays. I have a 3 display setup (all 1920x1080) and I've noticed I can get this problem even with just 2 clients running on 2 of the displays.

I collected some data and filed a bug report through the client to help the devs sort this out. It definitely got worse since Rubicon hit. I was able to run 3 clients on 3 monitors stable previously..

There was a pre-existing issue if you ran those multiple panels with more than one gpu. See this older thread which is still an open item I think : https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=51183

The WAR suggested there by CCP Paradox was to run all three panels from one gpu, which used to work till Rubicon update.

What I have noticed, and you guys with a similar setup can confirm / deny is: If you click back and give the client that is rendering on Adapter = "GPU - 1", and then watch framerate, it slowly stabilizes back to the app controlled v-sync level (60 Hz in my case). If I click on the second or third adapter, I see an fairly immediate drop in frame rate. DX 9 and DX 11 fail the same way.

Temporary Workaround (please test and let me know if this helps):

After some experimentation, I have something that helps a little bit. It is far from ideal. Mentioning it below in case it helps anyone else, while our friendly devs figure out the correct fix :)

1) Set your client to Interval Immediate mode and close all open clients
2) Make sure your launcher setting is set to DX 9.
3) Download FPS Limiter 0.2 third party tool. ( http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/1598-fps-limiter-02/ )
4) Set a limit to 60 for exefile.exe in EVE install path.
5) Start EVE client from the shortcut that got generated in the FPS limiter folder.

I notice i can start up all clients now and the 60 Hz limit i set seem to hold at least for a while.

Problems:
- It would be really nice if the EVE client itself had a max FPS option in addition to interval one and interval immediate. Not sure if this is possible, but it would be greatly appreciated while a proper fix for the multi-client vsync issue is found.
- After some time, the limits seem to get removed and the framerate shoots up to 90-120Hz (for me). So the FPS limiter isn't doing its job perfectly. I've noticed similar problems using NVIDIA inspector tool to set an FPS limit with more than one client running. So this workaround doesn't seem to hold very long.

Question for devs:
- Is there a way to start exefile.exe with a commandline option to specify _trinity_dx9_deploy.dll ? I notice it is starting up by default with dx11_deploy even though launcher default is dx 9. (probably since I am not using the launcher). I'd like to confirm if the framerate limit getting lost issue with this workaround is resolved if i start the client correctly in dx9 mode.

[EDIT] I tried using "/noconsole /triPlatform=dx9" options to exefile.exe. It even says "Using Direct3D 9 Renderer Hook" followed by starting exefile.exe but the framerate monitor inside client (ctrl+f) shows dx11 still.

The behavior seems to have improved on my 3-display setup with Rubicon 1.3 when i switched back to dx11 mode. So that is worth a try if you are still having problems.

Also, if you are using NVIDIA hardware, i had to revert back to 332.21 drivers to fix an unrelated occasional freezing up issue with the client.

This started happening to me hardcore after 1.3.

Eve seems to all of a sudden have a real big problem loading objects on the screen and it systematically freezes my screen trying to load them.

Had this with dx9 setting. For me at least, the stuttering is gone with Eve set to dx11. Don't know if it will help anyone else, but that's what worked for me. The only issue I have in dx11 (well related to dx11 anyways) so far is that Eve likes to minimize when you go afk for a minute or two, which is no biggie. That, and although the constant stuttering is no more, I still have some sudden frame dips when new objects try to load on screen; landing on station/gate hangs for a brief moment, that sort of thing.

I have the frame-rate problem just by sitting in station, it's all over the place. Computer doesn't like opening the market or searching for product in market, takes about 10seconds.
I never used to have a problem dualboxing with eve untill rubicon but now graphics have to be set on low and run on dx9 but if i have it set to dx11 everything is soooo slow.
