Is it possible to take the guns and scramblers and everything? Would I need to destroy the POS itself?

After you destroy the POS stick, you can unanchor and take any modules around it.

If CCP loved us they'd let you unanchor the tower and make off with it. I found a C1 once that had 6 dead large faction towers. I almost cried.

they should allow it after a certain time period passes. IE 30 full days with no one from the corp or alliance being in the system at all, it becomes neutral and open for anyone to take

I always kinda liked the idea of being able to hack them, then wait for a long unanchor timer, scoop....????... Profit.

But I also take the side of them being kinda cool just being abandoned. Gives off a ghost town/graveyeard kind of vibe

I agree with Maximus, i say there should be a cooldown timer of 30-60 days once fuel runs out. After this time the tower should be scoopable or able to re-online under the corporation that has found it.
