After all of these years I have yet to get a good experience with a patch

I've come and gone many times over the years but the thing that stands out the most is that it doesn't matter which operating system I have or which method I use to install and/or upgrade the client it never works right after an upgrade. Ever. And hotfix patches NEVER install, forcing me to do a clean install.

CCP, please, for the love of your fans... please address the problems with the installer. I know I'm not the only one with this problem. I've worked in various technical roles in the IT field for 15 years and I have never seen another product fail so consistently across multiple operating systems.

I've personally seen it happen with Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

i can think of only 2 times things have gone wrong with updating this game, Boot.ini-Gate and this latest one with offline launcher, years ago it used to take a little longer and have a few hotfixes after, but they worked for me and i never really knew what the hotfixes were for, im thinking its your 15 years of IT experience that's made your pc's so fragile :p
