CCP ignores test server feedback; Malediction unusably unbalanced

So much for listening to player feedback on changes, eh? CCP, in their zeal to make improvements (which to their credit, mostly succeeded) completely broke the Malediction. As linked in the completely ignored feedback thread, the Malediction is completely unbalanced and unusable: http://i.imgur.com/WjJiAGn.jpg

Think of the disappointment and heartbreak that everyone who was looking forward to flying a more powerful Malediction is going through. The stupid thing can't even fly straight anymore if you try to use any sort of weapon on it! This represents a complete departure by CCP from development focused on in-space features, this time going toward in-EFT features rather than WiS.

What's next? Removing a wing from the Rifter? If things keep progressing in this direction, Eve will be dead within one expansion, two max. This is apalling and I'm calling for an immediate protest in Jita until this grievous issue is addressed by CCP. Who's with me?

You're saying you would have preferred for the interceptor changes to be delayed until the art department was ready?

Maybe the CS rebalance should have waited for the new skins to be ready?

no.

It's not art, it's physics and moving one hardpoint around. With 4 high slots, the Malediction could put its launchers in slots 1, 3, and 4 in order to be a symmetrical sleek tackle machine. Now it's an unflyable abomination of Caldari proportions -- except without the built-in considerations for practicality that the Caldari have.

Asymmetry in Eve is not new.

Gripers gonna gripe.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Are you saying that ruining the previously great physics and aesthetics of an iconic Eve interceptor was intentional?

Indeed I just fit one and thought it looked stupid. Perhaps a fix can be put in place for the point release

Fit no guns! Guns have mass! Mass slows you down!

Stop crippling your ship from the designers vision!

What you're meant to do is roll continuously in order to throw off enemy missiles. The system has been purposefully implemented in order to facilitate this. Obviously you need to lern2malediction. Blink

Maybe I am too dumb to get it, but the Malediction in your picture has 2 rocket launchers on either side. One may be on the top and the other at the bottom, yet from a strictly axially symmetric point of view this ship looks balanced to me.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I clicked this thread expecting to be outraged that my favourite and most effective fleet interceptor had been broken in some way related to the game mechanics of flying fast to provide on-grip warps and long points. Imagine my surprise when it was instead some publord whining about the way the ship looks when you zoom all the way in, and simply cannot figure out how to filter the inane drivel that spews forth from brain to keyboard.

Never change, eveo pubbies. :magical:

Trying to construct any argument based on how good or bad something looks is doomed to fail because it is based solely on opinion. Not everyone likes how certain ships look, and not everyone hates how those same ships look. Trying to say everyone thinks a certain model is great or bad just makes you a fool, and causes people to ignore any other argument you may be trying to make.
