Just wondering if anyone has had a play with these ships in, say a C2 or C3. Are they able to hold their own against sleepers in exploration sites?

You don't really need a covops cloak on a pve ship. Once you got rid of that, you get more performance for your buck even by using a navy Vexor. As always, drones are a pita to use in sleepersites, unless you got the necessary ewar to keep aggression focused on yourself.

The Stratios is able to run those sites up to c3 (at least form the tanking PoV), but it's a very subpar ship for creating income.

I was just about to buy one for random midnight carebearing use, but decided that the Ishtar I currently use is just that much better.

I'll stick to the cloaky tackler Stratios and leave PvE to cloakless ships.

Stratios can definitely do low class wormholes, but so can many tech 1 cruisers and battlecruisers, and Stratios does not seem to have any definite advantage over them, despite its hefty pricetag.

Astero is just either an AAR-kiter or a dualrep-brawler, with a cloak and probe launcher. Stratios is either a singleplated combatprober with neuts, a dualplated tackleship with a regular probe launcher, or active tanked with blasters and dualprop.

In any case, it's pvp. :P
