I have an idea about making MJD more useful. We often need t otravel long distances in our ships for example to acceleration gates. MJD can be very helpfull because we can get to it in 2 jumps (or more if distance is >200 km). While in tactical view we click on our ship and choose something like "draw diameter X km" and we choose 100 km. Next we click on our acceleration gate and do the same thing. Result of that is circle diameter (2D) where our 2 ball diameters cut. Than we select any point on that diameter and align to it. We jump and land 100 km from acceleration gate. That we aligh to it and jump again.
I hope I got it mathematically and geometrically OK.
It should be similiar to navigating sea ships with a map. Either way I hope you understood general idea of my concept.
