When, or if, you are ready to reveal, it would be great to hear how your patch speculation went.

I bought some data and relic analyzers, and some hyperspatial velocity rigs. Haven't made much yet, but there is still time. Wanted to do more with about 10b I had set aside for speculation, but I don't know what got into me late one night and I spent the entire amount on buying deadspace stuff...

Any colour you like.

As far as I know, the build costs of those items isn't changing at all

I thought demand may go up, but I've been similarly wrong in my previous attempts at speculation.

Part of the reason for lack of demand is that the SOE ships are horrendously overpriced (at one point I saw the frig trying to be sold at 1 billion isk a.k.a no logic) and although there are the new ghost sites, people would rather stick with a surefire way to making isk instead of something with no market. This compounds with the fact that most people who do exploration are in W-space or new players who get the stuff handed to them from the career agents.

Buy Orders for Wetware Mainframes are double what they usually are, as of last night. So I consider that a success :)

Granted, I didn't have enough ISK to "make a fortune" off that speculation. I may have made an extra dozen million, due to being space poor and barely logging in the last couple weeks.

Customs office gantries shot up in price too.... pretty obviously. Wish I'd had more capital to buy those up

I am a terrible trader and late to the party but being space poor compared to you all made a hefty return on my investment. I will be able to purchase a few of the new BPOs and lose my money in the industry game.

I bought a couple Bastion Mode I bpc early when I logged in, then sold them for nearly double on public contracts. People are like crazed animals over these things. Not in Jita, I did it in Amarr.

i built a fair few of those and sold out in minutes in amarr at 6 mill a pop.
was quite pleased. about 200 mill profit which is tiny compared to what you guys do but made me happy.

Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85

They are selling at 10M a pop in Amarr right now. The last day or so, the high was 1.8M I believe. Nice job :)

Demand could go up, but that won't change the build cost of the item unless the increase in demand is big enough to affect the cost of the build materials. Ship builders will keep prices down to their usual levels because if interceptor buy prices went up 20%, suddenly there is a much greater profit margin and incentive to build more interceptors.

I don't know if this can be called speculation, but I happened to have a number of freighters full of PI materials and... let's say that I am liquidating some of that with great satisfaction P

PI goods were easy to spot a mile off with the anticipated disruption to customs offices.
The main ones were P4 items but even I was surprised at 5-8 mil a pop. Luckily I brought 20k of each Shocked
I brought a couple of hundred customs offices too but only a slight movement at the minute there so I will keep hold of them.

I did take a punt on P3 that are used for fuel production too as if things get severely disrupted these should go up nicely.

Overall enough to sub 2 accounts for over a year in profits Big smile

We will see how the PI changes fall out, and I get off the sisters probe/launcher ride at the right time.

failure or success?
with each major patch volatility market increase but for planetary i doubt that new poco feature conduct to a sucess ;
because of player behaviors ...

all system claims since 2003 have a neurasthenic market and economic , economic need stable place ,taxe and politic..

with this patch taxe npc growing to 70% in higsec , but with player taxe grow overs 100% so not stable for profitable business ..

so i dont doubt about casual player without large structure witch dont want to be a slave of renters in high sec , Stopping production and maybe game if all theire activty sourrounded by claimer

whats you prefer daily taxe honest or 0 taxe for your Poco ;)

vote Fail patch , wait and see...

I succeeded in getting totally out of the meta 4 modules market without taking losses. I expect the tractor thingy to crash those hard (constant demand, dramatically increased supply), so I sold off the billion or so of Faint Epsilon Warp Scramblers and Phased Muon Sensor Dampeners I had in trading stock. I may have moved a little too soon, but I'd rather sell 100% of my scrams at 2900k than sell 70% of them at 3200k then have to dump the last 30% to buy orders in a couple weeks.

As for other market movements - I have been making an absolute killing on two particular ships lately, but they have nothing to do with Rubicon and a lot more to do with nullsec politics and alliances. Despite limited capital, I am on track to make 5b in profit this month from one character that can build tech 2 ships.

I've also made a bit on buying tech 2 ship components in Jita and Hek and selling them in Dodixie, where local demand has been higher than local supply. I love the useful idiots that take public courier contracts.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

Turned and burned stock for a quick 14.7b profit.

Speculation on Rubicon has worked out okay for me, but whatever profits I will make pale in comparison to what I could have made, had I invested more heavily in PI materials. I knew they would be in short supply, and I bought what I thought I would need for the deployables I planned to build, but I have no idea why I didn't stockpile more. Call me a dumb ass.
