But as for the non sarcastic answer: They are hybrid combat/exploration site, that gives the materials and blueprints for the warp speed implants but blows up if you take too long, damaging your ship, then summoning rats without a bounty to try and kill you.

All in all, fairly dynamic.



When the timer goes off, rats spawn. They're really only there to pop the site. They'll shoot you a few times, pop the cans, shoot you a few more times, and leave.

Just looking at my logs from earlier today, at 4:20:49 I was first aggressed, at 4:20:56 the site exploded, and the last shot fired at me was at 4:21:10.

In the next site I did I was aggressed at 4:23:00, the site exploded at 4:23:05, and the last shot was at 4:23:19.

I haven't seen any other pattern, except when I've failed a hack and blown the site myself.

I predict 2 new SoE ships, warp speed changes, marauders and bastion modules, nullified interceptors, and new modular deployable structures.

I'm one of them weird ones im looking forward to screaming "move ya slow prile ah shizzle" at my screen when i try move my barge lol

Yeah but err ppl moan things get nerfed i guess, im used to it no matter what game im playing someone somewhere moans about something loud and long enough until its nerfed to the ground an tbh its norm a game killer for me but im new here so i dont know what sort of nerfs go into eve an why so i cant rightly comment on if there fair or not, the ghost sites though,just going by the trailer video, should stay exactly as they are with all the risk involved, eve = risk no matter where you are in it to take away the risk is to take away what is for me the core element to the game

I actually really, really hope this one doesn't happen. I know it probably will, but bleh.

Ghost sites need a mechanic like that to help make them something harder than the other exploration sites we have now.


There will be more than one type of ghost site - some will be in high sec and others in W-space .. sites will drop high and low grade sh*t depending on which one you run so they will hopefully have a "harder than exploration sites"-bit built in ... maybe?

barge warp mechanics are unchanged... i think. so unless you've been grumpy about it... meh

Also... I read an interview [no, I can't re-find it...] where someone [Dev??] mentioned that Ghost Sites were a precursor to galactic expansion and that components for player-built star gates would be a product, along with Ascendancy implant loots, of the new site mechanics.

The trouble is... I have not seen much talk of this and that makes me lean towards "because fake article" or "less stoned, more gym." :/

Anyone else hear this or see that article???

how will people be able to say 'eve is a cruel harsh mmo' if it goes all fluffy bunnies and rainbows
