Opinion piece article of the Month.

Citizens and allies of the Federation we must remain United I have watched things simmer for months now. watched in bewilderment as our allies and some of our leaders have blundered in actions and in words spoken. Relations between the Federation and the Republic have taken a nose-dive ever since former Republic Prime Minister Karin Midular was assassinated by Gallente Citizen Gerne Broteau. Karin Midular was attacked and later died of her injuries whilst attending a Minmatar Culture Festival in Callie.

After the incident the Federation and the Republic engaged in a squabble of who should have the right to put Mr Broteau on trail. In the end Mr Broteau was trailed by the Federation and sentenced to twelve conservative life sentences and was later handed over to the Republic and remanded in custody. Broteau was soon after found guilty in a trial that lasted 36 hours with no interruption. The swiftness of the trail and the execution thereon after was criticised by many leading figures in the Federation.

Relations since the incident had taken another hit after a Matari terrorist group called the Bloody Hand of Matar attacked the Atlanins distribution center on Synchelle III which resulted in the deaths of 7 people and left 13 others injured. Following the attack a Brutor student was arrested after the death of three Gallente men.

These series of incidents have lead to some members of the Matari community to fear that they will be a backlash against their community. One Minmatar resident on Callie who did not wish to be identified told our publication the following “ I am afraid you know, recently you had one politician whose name I can’t remember saying that the Matari are not good for the Federation. I have read my history and I remember when an extreme right-wing government was in power after the attack on Nouvelle Rouvenor, it feels like it these days” he said. The politician who the
interviewee mentioned was Conservative Senator Artios Chermoul who was quoted as telling his local constituents that the Matari were a “untrustworthy”. It is worth noting that Artios has a history of starring up populist sentiments whilst not practising what he preaches. It is worth noting that the untrustworthy Minmatar account for 40% of his family’s Company workforce, with the head of Finance being of Matari origin. The irony.

Cupsuleer News of the Month.

The system of Doril in the Curse region was turned into a mass grave yard after hundreds of pod-piloted ships were caught in what military experts call “interdictor bubbles”. These bubbles prevented the ships from warping off and were blown apart by low sec pirates who were staging from a near by system.

The few witnesses who came out of the situation alive describe a scene of utter chaos and disorganisation. One pod pilot who can not be named told this publication “This thing was a mess, what on Caldari-Prime were Concord thinking. They sent us to pass through that system which is a staging system for null sec alliances at war”. However one of the Pirates who was in Doril told this publication that “These carebear pilots came all the way out here with their fancy swag, we shipped them back to their pods. Its the poor crew who were manning the ships that I was most sorry for, but all well. stuff happens. Either way we killed many that night, it was like shooting fish in a barrel”.
