Does anyone know if Garmon and Duncan do group session sex services? I am paying top dollar if you can broker this escapade for me!

Just released a new video explaining the updated prize pool.
Includes two kickass fights as well, by Logan Durandal and Syss7 :-)

An interesting article about Solo PvP: http://themittani.com/features/new-eden-solo

Is it ok to submit a fight without using any of the fancy video editing software and just the pure un edited video, only i enjoy my pvp and will submit an entry but i wouldnt know where to start with actually making a proper video?
I do know how to live stream and record to fraps however.

Thanks in advance

We are only interested in the raw format (maybe compress it)

All the editing will be done by us.

Well, after writing the article about your contest, I decided to give it a shot myself.

I'm a bomber guy, so this sort of stuff is foreign to me, but I tried! The fight finally happens at 59:00 in this video: http://www.twitch.tv/bomberjayne/b/483270249

Made a few mistake: Not taking the exile booster, trying to kill drones with blasters (note to self, that doesn't work even while webbed), waiting way too long to cap inject, not switching back to ships overview after targeting drones.... that's about what I noticed I did wrong myself.

Got any other tips on how to improve?

Cheers, and I love the project.

Can't shoot blues if you don't have any. Long Live NPSI.

Jayne, I can try give you a few thoughts that spring to mind after watching the few minutes of your stream around that time-mark.

Micromanagement-wise, indeed you might just want a little more practice in that ship, in how large the cap injection is compared to base cap, the reload & cycle time of it, in always having an AAR pre-heated due to the unique bonuses it has, and in things like taking drugs.
I'd not run active hardeners until there is actually something shooting/bombing you that you're likely to actually take armour damage in that second. That ~200 cap could be what you need on such a ship in such a fight.
I'd not fly an active-tanked armour fit Gal hull without a damage control. There's the RAH to consider.

As for shooting an SFI, I'd have looked to see if you could see an invuln or sebo effect, because dual prop armour ones are so small and fast they're like insanely tanky frigs that track almost as well too(I think I'd always use faction AM against them when up close, also take extra care of your drones against such targets). If you had a hint he wouldn't have an AB, it'd be much better for you. Also, did you try cycle your mwd to see if he has a scram or long point?
If you saw an armour rep effect, or his armour recover, then the neuting is probably a good call, else I think you'd want to save that cap cost for your dps & tank.

IDK about aggroing a SFI at 0km on a null-null gate if you don't know what's on the other side. TBH if it's a blob, you haven't kited the SFI away, so they can be right on you if you aggro and they jump through anyway, so why not look and leave the SFI behind for a minute with aggro. The cane landing right on you is your cue to lay into it with void & OH at ~1km(whatever just inside optimal is). You should have range dictation over it, unlike vs the SFI which was tanking you, and can probably be expected to.

IDK why you tried to shoot the drones, initially you seemed to do a decent volley or 2 to the SFI's armour, it looked promising that you could break it, and you learnt you could tank him on ~1 rep, and his drones aren't much of his dps, nor of the overall should the cane join the combat soon after.

Not bad for a first shot. You have already pointed out some major details, which is great, however I really doubt there was much you could have done in that fight. A brutix cannot tank the dmg and neuting power of 2 BCs and a navy cruiser. But yeah, I got a few comment.

First of all, the fit:
You should fit a damage control. Especially when activetanking. When you are brawling you often gain more ehp by fitting a DCU and it will also give you some resist that aint stacking penalized. And with an active tanked ship, you can often end up taking structure bleeds so having the extra 60% structure resist is a huge help.

I would probably also fit a mag stab on a dualrep brutix. Just because the extra damage quite good to have. Active hardeners can be really great, but in some situations they can be a big disadvantage. A dualrep brutix is already cap hungry and having 3 harderers eat cap doesn't help either. And as you experianced. You got neuted out quite fast and are pretty screwed without resist when you dont have a plate to add some EHP.

So the lows would be something like: DCU, 2EANM, 1Magstab, MAAR + MAR (Remember to put the reppers in each end to optimize overheating).

It was a great choice to kill the drones in a fight against another active tanked ship, but as you pointed out, guns aren't that good for it. However you could have killed them fast with your own drones if you webbed them.

Your module management could use a little improvement. I find it much easier to keybind the modules but it is a personal taste. I am not sure if you saved the heat on your guns for the SFI or simply haven't thought about overheating them. Just bear in mind that it is often a good idea to overheat as soon as you start applying damage when flying solo.

Interesting that Miz would put your medium drones on his drones, whereas I'd value how well they hit a scram+webbed small target like the SFI Big smile

SFI and frigate targets makes me think way back to this fight when I'd just rejoined the game and tried some solo Brutix for the first time. http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=11929522
My injector was not auto-reloading, and I was TDed by the Sentinel, but the frigates were caught out by how well hammerheads hit when scram+web is applied.
The POS is on the mail because I was actually straight-up copying Kil2's SEVEN vid and splitting the gang by warping celestials until I had 2 or 3 on grid and the others somewhat scattered. Edit: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=1065858 the second fight, there's a commentary mp3, or vid version with 2 audio tracks.
IDK if that can even be done thanks to the warp changes. Sad

heh true.

The reason for my suggestion is that a dualrep vs dualrep fight would and up being drawn out and taking off the drone dps from the beginning might give him the edge. But I have absolutely no idea how well the brutix can power through the SFI reps.

A shame we didn't get to see the resault.

You make it sound like you assume it's a 1v1 active tanked drawn out fight. How would the SFI ever kill anything by aggroing someone at 0km on a gate, unless he has friends the other side, or thought you'd jumped into him/isn't thinking such things through. And I didn't look if the cane was the same ticker/obviously friendly to the SFI, but I'd assume he's likely to come over & get involved. Blink

A medium smartbomb (smalls are bad iirc) can chase off/kill dps drones as well as EC ones. And a nos can help, especially with the mechanics changes so if you can expect your absolute cap level to be run down, it'll help you and hurt the other guy.

Yeah, I'm too naive Lol

The cane and SFI are both from same corp.

If you got sisi set up and want a little more practice with the dualrep brutix we can have a little 1v1 there. I have a harbinger fit I would like to test against a brutix.

Oh, and basically never warp to 0km on an unknown nullsec gate in a brawler. Try find a celestial in dscan range to take a peek from. If you'd hit a stop/drag bubble you could be miles off gate and longpointed by kiters. Sure if there's an interdictor & some decloak cans you might want to end up on a bubble edge with them trying to scram you so you have a chance at a shiny kill, but they shouldn't got for a brutix, more likely they'll cloak or kite you too.

Else, you could try the old: go somewhere safe, run reps & warp-cancel to non-aligned things to burn your cap down, then try & fail to warp the whole way to the gate to make a dscan spot. BM it, and let your cap regen before possibly getting into combat. It's a tedious process.
When you get to know an area, the locals, and make BMs you'll have to do this much less. Roaming it in an interceptor first could help a lot, even if you don't feel confident in a frig & avoid fights.

Haha! Having navigated nullsec quite frequently, I did at least do a dscan of the gate before warping to it. I'm usually the ******* who is sitting in those drag bubbles killing solo PvPers, so I generally know what to look out for in that regard.

Nice initiative from our solo pvp ambassadors.

I'd like to ask two questions to them :

-Do i really smoke too much or the jury composition already changed ? i thought i have readen Darknesss into them, i don't see him anymore. Well, nevermind.

-it looks like you thought seriously to how you're gonna score the fights, with a lot of criterias. There is still one, that a mate of mine noticed smartly, which is determinant in solo fights : your opponents' level.

Let's take the extem opposites, for example. Fighting the Matari Exodus gang will be way more hard than fighting a lambda home defense gang in the depth of 0.0. Fighting the Ivy League 40 Beginners fleet, has nothing to see with fighting 40 RnK's.

Did you get the point ?

I'd be happy to know your position about this concept.

Some players of my corp are really interested in this contest. We just hope that Buhhdust Princess won't send us his cyno tengu dropping 30 black ops on our active tanked ships every time we'll undock them ;) . i doubt it would make an interesting video.
