New Missile launcher Mechanic

I keep hearing a lot of people complaining about missile launchers and the reload time of the XRML. my solution is to change the mechanic of launchers in a slightly new way that would make it fun and interesting.

NEW High Slot Module:
Missile Bay Extender.
increases the Missile bay capacity (X%, or a set size)

Missile launchers increase a ships Missile Bay size(default is 0). Think about an inventory that can only hold missiles.

All missile launchers would pull from this bay. a reload pulls missiles from the cargo bay to the missile bay.
All missile launchers would have some sort of missile bay size by default. More missile launchers the more missiles you can hold in your bay.
Missile bay can hold more than one type of missile, missiles are chosen randomly.
Missile reload rate is determined by number of missing missiles in the bay. So larger Bays take longer to reload.
XRML -- Could have an inherit defect that prevents the missile bay from being reloaded until repaired, and make the requirement for repair nanite paste(20-40sec cd).

This would be more Sandbox-y and allow for some interesting fighting styles. Also this could be implemented for other Ammo based weapon systems as well. (Lasers wouldn't benefit from this at all).

The trick being the missile bay extender would be a High Slot item. Making players having to decide between faster reload or sustained DPS. or even applying two damage types, or mixing auto targeting ammo with targeting ammo (shot gun effect)

...I'm sure this is a bad idea, I just can't pin down why. Maybe because it doesn't sound very entertaining as a mechanic.

Maybe your solution should be to do some reading and actually educate yourself on the new RLML changes.

Probably because most missile-based hulls have few (if any) utility slots, so you'd be trading DPS.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
