I see that it should have a Caldari Battlecruiser bonus of 4% shield resists per level. Am I missing something, or does that indeed mean that, since you need it to 5 to fly the ship regardless, it should have 100% thermal, 90% kinetic, ect ect? That just seems kinda crazy to me. If so, ill definitely be using this for giving bonuses in missions for me corp

That's not how resists combine.

The 20% is 20% of the remaining amount. So if you have a base 70% kinetic, with skill 5 you have 70 + (30 * .2) = 76 resist.

Also, get EFT.
