Everyone has wanted to theorycraft from time to time. Whether it be to figure out what you could do with maxed out skills, a pimped out ship, or just to tweak your combat fit for maximum performance, fitting tools are one of the best and most widely used tools ever developed by the EVE community.

This week's Community Spotlight takes a look at one of the most popular of these tools, pyfa.

+1 for pyfa. It changed the way I play EVE, from terrible to terrible-but-with-the-knowledge-to-not-be-terrible-eventually-maybe.

Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables.

I voted in CSM X!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Community Spotlight supposed to feature the people for their work. The Blog mentions Pyfa was originally created by Sakari who then collaborated with Kadesh Priestess to refine it. Later they created a team which included Aamrr as tester and Darriele as the primary UI designer. Now the site is maintained by Kadesh Priestess who regularly consults with Entity for Eve related info to update Pyfa.

Gratz to the following people for having Pyfa featured in this Community Spotlight.

Gratz to Sakari for the vision to create Pyfa.
Gratz to Darriele for designing Pyfa.
Gratz to Aamrr for testing Pyfa.
Gratz to Kadesh Priestess for maintaining Pyfa.
Gratz to Entity for helping to update Pyfa.

I think that covers everyone.

This is still the case.

Sorry but shouldn't you mention EFT first?

I'm pretty sure that your subscribers would be significantly lower number if it wasn't for Gripen and his EFT that he never stopped to update patch after patch all those years.

There were many times that i was so bored with the game that i would quit if it wasn't this little programe with which i played countless hours in search of the "magic" fit that will give me upper hand in a battle, and that made me log in the game again.

Two unsung heroes of EvE - Grippen for EFT and John Halur for the amazing music and the immersion that he created with it.
Much respect to both of them.

You EvE devs owe these two guys more than you can imagine.

Currently Pyfa is one man project.

Also Kadesh Priestess gave credit to all team members in an interview following devblog. (Interview in russian for one of translator team members of eve-ru forum).

If someone "can into russian", it won't take long to translate Smile

lol BS... EFT doesn't even have all modules last time I checked, and it isn't cross-platform like pyfa is.

I do prefer EveHQ though, all 3rd party tools you could ever need in one handy program Smile
+ it's completely open-source so you can add/tweak features yourself Cool

Of course EFT is the best for Windows. But pyfa is multi-platform.
Any way, +1 EFT.

Simple question, I am used to EFT and EVE-HQ for my little fitting/training needs, should I use Pyfa for some special reason?
