AS most things have been said already here
Im gonna say guns are better. As the Gunnery support skills apply to 3 weapons systems. Missiles only apply to 1.

confirming I use missiles primarily so I can make "FWOOOSH!" noises while spinning in my chair. Unfortunately this sometimes causes me to spill my drink and generally alarms the cats.

Since one needs to test the lagg differences between guns and missiles for massive fleet fights fought by alliances;

This is actually a "nerf spinning in chairs" thread. I knows it to be true.
Edit: If anyone suggests nerfing alcohol I shall personally gut them like a fish and do a little dance while wearing their face as a mask... in game of course.

Just reduce the atmospheric ISP. Burns out quicker, so you need more of them to make your frankenstein asparagus staged monster get off the ground.
