I would love to see CCP start a donation drive via plex to provide aid for the victems of Typhoon Haiyan in the Phillipines. CCP have done this sort of thing in the past for other aid projects to great success and it would be a nice gesture from CCP.

For british citizens I suggest donation through the DEC website as the uk government will match any donation pound for pound DEC website

I know. It's all a shame.

Unfortunately we are going to see more, and even worse.

Not sure what the solution is, and charity drives for these disasters are indeed needed, but honestly it's become almost too overwhelming.

We still have Hurricane Sandy victims still without homes over a year later. Not even that is cleared up yet.

And it matters not how much aid is sent if they cannot manage to get it distributed, which the Philippine government is obviously not able to accomplish at all. Nothing but themselves can remove that hurdle.

Another sad part is that in some cases only a very little % of what is donated/collected actually goes/gets to the victims. I know that in some cases most of it goes to paying the logistics and all sorts of other things rather then where it should be going.

That is why/when i donate money I do a lot of research on the organization to make sure that the money actually goes to the right place.

I agree in some respects, I just recognise that immediate aid is required at the moment, many without any access to food and clean water (most standing water is reported to have the dead floating in it). Its rare that I am driven to donate to such things, but I just felt that this was a really hopeless situation with over 90% of buildings destroyed in the worst hit areas. I would say that if you are a british citizen that you should donate through the main donation website DEC.org.uk as the uk government have pledged to match any donation pound for pound, plus you get gift aid added. For other nations its worth checking if your government have similar pledges
