Logged in today in Jita. Local was quiet. Civilized even.

I felt kind-of violated.

The scammers are busy trying to figure out how to change their font color to blue.

Looks like scammer bots got hit with hammer ban. (I blame Thor)

Are CCP finally acting on the botters that give honest scammers a bad name?

I am glad to see this. Those scum take the worst tactics of miners - botting - and apply them to an honorable profession.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

Yep, from the statistics it's clear that traffic dropped by half as compared to the 180 day average lines per minute. Does this mark the end of our favourite Eve mini-game of Whack-A-Mole scammer blocking?

I think they should ban the bots, spamming is fine providing you're actually sitting at your computer and copy and pasting it yourself while you do something else (margin trade for example).

But those who use bots/AHK scripts to spam the chat should be warned, if they don't stop, ban em.

Hearing the same annoying scam literally 24/7 in any major trade hub, is ridiculous.

i actually had a bit of conversation in jita local yesterday, only saw 2 'spam' messages in about an hour worth

what i'm worried about is the amount of legit contracts in jita all of the sudden, maybe we'll have to actually read them at some point in the near future for good deals...

Jita local actaully unnerves me nowadays, I still need to get over the fact that the contracts being posted are from real people, performing real scams, and not botscams...

I never thought I would actually miss the day of bots spamming Jita local, it was kind of a (sad) fact of life in Jita...
Now I have no certainty anymore... what's going to happen to the universe next?

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

I love the silence in Jita. Thank you CCP :)

Do you know who's going to inherit New Eden? Arms dealers. Because everyone else is too busy killing each other.

Considering bots were active before and now they aren't, I'd say:

It is the silence after the storm. P

None of my friends were affected. However, a post here suggests the recent actions were a temporary slap on the wrist.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

It's been stated that this is following the normal botting policy.

14 day ban for the first strike (would have been 30, but they've not really enforced it before. )
Perma ban on the second strike.

It was nice while it lasted but it's back to being a cesspit hole again. Any chance of another purge?

It was fun while it lasted. Time to update my block list.

PS. Is there a list with known spammers? That would make my life a lot easier.

you can easily spot the spammers, but I won't tell you how...
