The last few expansions have picked off the majority of the low hanging fruit, at some point they have to start thinking big again.

I´ve got no problem with that. I guess, only fixing little things isn´t what a game developer likes to do all the time anyway (unless you´re called CCP Karkur). While all those little fixes have had a HUGE impact on the quality of the game, why not let them dream at least a bit again. They won´t stop fixing small things because of that (I hope. If they do, lets shoot some statues).

I am having trouble parsing that sentence. Do you believe it is 2012?

Has CCP lost its way?

NO, they found their way with GREED IS GOOD and have not turned back since. Sure they have given LIP SERVICE to having learned their lesson from that hot mess since then. However, I tend to look at what CCP does vs what they say.Oops

I want:

- remodeled/fixed PVE
- more, better missions
- fixing/updating drones things
- better incursions (more version of them like angel, guristas, more variety etc)
- truly updated exploration
- fix LS/NULL
- fix POSes
- remodel industry and mining for better, cooler
- HD textures
- remodeled UI

Overall fix and expand existing stuff with some little new things like those mobile depots, tractor unitc etc and then give us new stuff like ring mining, WiS, more station interiors, new graphic effects like those shield and armor damage effects showed on fanfest

No friend I am aware of the date. The sentiment is the most important thing. After one year, CCP has seemingly returned to a stadard that proved problematic and lead to the events which propted that keynotethat key note.

I posted it because I believe in that time testament that those who not remember (and learn from) their past are doomed to repeat it.

This. The problem with incarna was that we got 1 room with 1 person that melted graphics cards. You couldn't do anything. And then no spaceships for :18 months: nex store gold ammo greed is good happened. Naturally people threw a fit.

If you could shank people in station and make em loose implants, no one would have said a bad word about incarna. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the idea of WiS or EVA exploration (would certainly beat the hacking minigame) as long as their is actual game play and content, not just an internet fashion show.

Its good that CCP spent effort to fix the core game, but now the core game needs expansion.

I've been wondering this past couple years if the problem isn't that they aren't thinking big, it's that they've hit some foundation level hard-limits on either hardware or code and are basically trying to do the best they can within those limits.

It would be bad to just tell the customers "we can't do much more than we already have", so they get stuck with trying to keep the game alive with improvements that are meant to give the appearance of progress.

There's obviously some work going on behind the scenes on the codebase - how much that is responsible for the limitations of Rubicon's feature list and how much new opportunity it will unlock is up for speculation.

TRUE STORY

I left the game (6 accounts) more than a year ago partially to burn out but more so because I found a better way to spend my time feeling appreciated as a customer.

A few weeks ago I returned. I followed posts and re-learned the game. I subscribed a few accounts and made a few posts about concerns. Then I found the RHML thread. Feed back was horrible at best (from devs) but I pushed on.

Today CCP Rise announced that he will push through a very unpopular change to game mechanics despite overwhelming lack of support, with no testing, with no metrics revealed, just because a few of his mates on CSM like it.

As a result, I will ride out this month and wait untl CCP rights this ship to re sub.

Have fun EVE and no you can not have my stuff.

But if you keep your stuff, you'll be tempted to resub and play the game. Why not let someone else keep your stuff warm, while you enjoy your time winning Eve?
