Mad Ani live EVE stream petition

I think its been proven that people will watch Eve streams, and that in some form it attracts new viewers. Ani's stream is the biggest and would be around to stream the massive fights people wanted to see, whether that is entertaining when tidi kicks in is sort of the viewers preference.

I'm not too sure however Ani is the right person for a job, or if this is even worthy of a job, but he has been the only one doing it fairly consistently.

I am however amused by the fact that the majority of people complaining are part of Black Legion, Goonswarm, and Pandemic Legion, all alliances who have whined and complained about the stream because it provides some form of intel. Really....you need to get over it, as if people aren't already aware of what you are doing with the ridiculous amounts of spies or people have eyes on your fleets already. Whining about intel isn't a reason to **** all over a guy who wants to do something he enjoys doing, and to some extent people enjoy him doing. Wearing a fedora and sunglasses inside while you are on a webcam streaming, that's a reason to **** all over a guy.

One of the benefits I can see to this is that Mad Ani actually has some pulse on where the big fights are going to be (better than CCP) and they could use this intel to reinforce the nodes where this will occur, increasing the quality of large fleet battles.

Players are the ones supposed to inform CCP which systems are going to have a big fight happening so that they can reinforce the node, and that can only be done with a day in advance, so Ani wouldn't do anything that isn't already done by both CCP and players.

this.

It's a no from me there are other things ccp could do with the money to better the game, i know there are some that have come back/joined due to the stream he is doing but lets face it. If he was to give it up others would take it over for free.

Hiring anyone not just mad ani to fly around watching people fight could lead to so much tinfoil hat posts and ccp's IA getting a lot more work

Goonswarm dislike that mad ani gives intel of their fleet movements? I don't think they really care, since more often than not they will have dbrb streaming his point of view of fights without any delay. The fountain war, they had dbrb streaming i think it was a bomber fleet, again no delay, this war is the same thing, dbrb stream sometimes his bomber fleet, with no delay, if they were all that worried about giving intel to enemies, they wouldn't allow that.

And you are right that a big portion of the people that posted here are part of big alliances, but you can't really discredit the points that they made about why Mad ani should not work for CCP as if they were just whining that he's giving intel to their enemies.

+1, hire him.

He's a huge boon to the community. Me and my friends resubbed only because he was streaming the big fights and we realized "somewhere" out there is actually people shooting at each other which means this game might not be completely doomed yet.

You needed a poorly delivered stream to realize that people were shooting at each other in a PVP game? Wow, you sir are a genius.

The brass tax is this...

Should CCP go out of its way to hire a streamer.

Actually it goes even farther than that. What Mad literally asked CCP is this.

Will CCP hire a news reporter who streams ongoing events in Eve on a 24 hour basis?

Mad Ani's probably one of the best people for the job. I'm being honest here. He doesn't have a side to take, he's streaming the facts, and he's basically been doing it solely because he likes it. He himself is removed from 90% of the game populous because he's already done most of whats in the game already. His literal interest is putting on a good show. I don't fault him for that.

Is he an expert? No.
Is he perfect? No.
Does he know everything? No.
Does the person willing to do this job need to know everything? No.

The only thing the person needs is to be neutral, report the facts, and put on a good show.

He can do that, he's proven that too. The difference between him and the other streamers is that there is no propoganda with his stream. There is no mega corp, conglomerate, coalition supporting him. He's essentially totally neutral.

Which is what a reporter on the game needs to be. Its equal reporting on all sides, with 0 influence from anybody.

Based solely on that, he would be a good fit for doing the job of being a reporter. I could honestly care less about what he did up to this point. He didn't shoot anybody in the head, not a convicted felon and he doesn't generally hate on every living thing (as far as we know). He can do what he wants as it is currently his stream. He's bound by no rules, but he's been fairly straight forward to the community.

The community helped him with his PC, cool, no big deal.
The community (some) subscribed to his stream, hey that's there choice, and allowable as per twitch.
He does raffles, cool, that's him keeping the community watching.

His sole reason, least as far as I can see, is that he would like to keep streaming, and do it as more of a professional job. He can't do a 24 hour stream, keep it interesting, and ontop of that, run a 9 to 5 job on a daily basis, stay up to 3 to 4 in the morning keeping up with the CTA's, alliance attacks, and eve events, and live what most would attempt to conceive as being a normal life.

If he wants the job, hell I say hire him. You can figure out in what capacity later on. Having a 24/7 guy doing streaming of a game, that is itself 24/7... Not a bad investment. I've seen what other game companies do or attempt to do in regards to there dev's being streamers. Its usually for 2 hours on a friday, and all there doing is chatting with the community, or killing some enemy's trying to show-off the game. Mad kinda gets into the middle of everything, keeps it objective and clean, and explains like a reporter does, what the heck is happening, what stuff does, what that light and that beam is, and does it constantly as if the person just changed the channel and began watching Eve for the first time.

You don't get allot of people like that, who are capable of explaining a game on a constant basis, at all times of the day and night.

You currently have no developer in CCP that wants to do that because its not game development, it is solely reporting.

There are some people on this post that say "Hey there are other streamers, look this corp is steaming too". The difference is that there streaming for "Their corp". Mad's literally a guy who walked into a warzone with a camera and decided to report the whole thing before everybody decides to go find him and kill him.

What I think a lot of people aren't realising is this is not only politically a bad move for CCP to do, and would cause a lot of friction between players and CCP in a year that's been fraught with problems already... it's most definitely a TERRIBLE financial one. No matter how generously I run the numbers, CCP loses money for paying someone to stream.

Look, we get it. Mad Ani doesn't want a real job, and wants to sit at his PC all day with his feet up, playing horrible music to almost nobody, because most of the people who watch his stream mute it. Who wouldn't want a job like that?

WOW.

People seemingly haven't twigged his stream is a backup machine 99% of the time whilst he goes about using his paid-by-donation-to-stream computer for various FPS games.

Zoomed out undocks in moderate graphics don't take much computer power.

I've posted it once in another thread and I'll post it again here.

If you are using EvE Clients as an integral part of your streaming AND begging for subs and donations then how is this not the same as (Or really even worse than!) what Somer Blink has been charged with doing (i.e. that three letter acronym you get threads locked for using).

You scammed in-game and was proud of it. You now get PAID for doing it, despite having no real content on your streams or even decent camera angles or information except for iBots that are normally 24 hours out of date in a big fight.

And now PAY ME OR I'LL PULL THE PLUG WAHHH!

BTW Does your "new employer" have any employees that play EvE Online? If they do you may have just lost your new job by advertising you are looking for another one.
