The sale of the speculation stock has been moving quicker than I expected so I will be able to start repaying the loan.

There are two different issues. 1) Should you trust someone just because they have walked up that staircase? No.
2) Is it sensible to lower the entry barrier for large loans? Also no. Removing the requirement to take things step by step will help scammers but provide no value at all to investors. Just because some people do scam at the top of the staircase does not mean we would be better off giving everyone who has successfully borrowed 2bil an elevator straight to the top. Edit - Also, back when I was collecting data on this topic the numbers suggested that there was no real problem with the stairway. The problem came in precisely when minimum requirements started to be ignored at the higher levels, i.e. once people were already perceived to be at the top. It used to be the case that once you had done 30-40bil safely you got a free pass to unlimited amounts of investments without any further requirement for slow and steady growth. It was the businesses in this sector that caused by far the greatest damage to the loan market because they were essentially unregulated by requirements once their 'rep' was high enough. What we really needed was a bigger staircase and more steps not abandoning the idea of incremental progress entirely. That is the wrong conclusion to reach from the facts at hand.
