I still don't really understand how the attacking fleet failed because fleet warfare involves zero skill or planning and is just about pure numbers, nothing else.

At this stage I'm assuming communist sabotage.

No one in the high sec fleet had an F1 key, they had to use F2 and that's a lot slower.

Well, someone from CCP must have leaked the destination. Razor themselves have admitted that they deployed to Doril over a month in advance! How did they know?

True, true. However, in my defense, Blizzard can expect player guilds to join the "attacking" side to support the lore/RP/whatever. I'm surprised that CCP doesn't know their own game well enough to realize that the player corps/alliances would instead join the "defenders."

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I think it's more accurate to say that the players will join whichever side will result in them getting the most stuff and/or causing the most suffering for other players. And to be fair to the players, this is completely consistent with the Eve universe.

So what's the deal with the 4r "Grrrr" in the OP? Is this a typo or an intended hyperbole for over-damatization ?

It's just prosodic lengthening due to being both phrase initial and phrase final and having to carry the whole intonational contour for the utterance.
