We really wanted to do Assault Frigate improvements for Winter 2011 but it will not make it into the first release. We are aiming to make it happen sometime after the initial release but at this stage we simply cannot commit to a date.

This is something that we really want to do so you can be assured that it has not been forgotten.

im pretty sure FW was cut before this was cut <_<

uh... fail CCP?

just dont drop the ball on FW and hybrids. the rest is just fluff really. i consider the new BC's fluff because half the ships in the game are broken/useless

If the code is still there from some years back when you all put 10% to ab per level or whatever. Is it really that hard to just give AF's those bonuses and be done with it? Or is there a limiting factor with the old code that makes programing more difficult then say the simpler code in DX11? I also think you all should go DX11 so it is a lot easyer to program changes into the game instead of useing a continuingly outdated and difficult programning system to continuously update.

Only the hopelessly naive or heavily medicated think we are still on the table .. my guess is that it was scrapped immediately after Hilmar's mention of it, they just haven't gotten around to informing us of all the promises they will have to break this time around.

So far we have had confirmation of graphical bling and a few balance changes .. nothing that can be called expansion worthy (other than as side dishes). Still need info on all the the big ticket items .. all the things that prompted them to refocus in the first place.

I imagine a expansion that is focused just putting new ships of every class in the field and focusing balancing too.
I wouldnt mind the lack of content at all...

Really CCP , hope there is a CSM candidate that focus this concern.

the hybrid buff will make them or break them tbfh. until now, i thought AF's were a huge priority.

the visual stuff thats coming out is fantastic, and thats the art department. wtf are the devs doing? the new BC's are alright, but i think most people just wanna fly what's already in the game.

lets see, whats not working: black ops, EAF's, AF's, anything relating to hybrids. about half the ships in the damn game.

Really? Im pretty certain it says here that theyre getting fixed.

Lets look at that again:

"here‘s an overview of what functionality, systems and gameplay we‘re going to improve and add to.

Hybrid weapons balancing

Factional warfare

Assault ships"

Perhaps we misunderstood something ....? Nope - it definitely says

we‘re going to improve

Assault ships

Yup. Says it right there. Back to work CCP its time to deliver.

You are still going on about the fluff (smaller balance items) .. the big stuff, that which will really suck down the man-hours are what will make or break it for me like the promised null-sec revamp.

Sadly, they have gotten so far behind on the basic balance maintenance that they will probably have to blow an entire expansion cycle just to catch up which bodes ill for actual mechanic changes/content.

It looks like FW and AF buffs got benched, CCP was a little too ambitious for their deadlines and the staff cut. But even still, its looking to be the best patch in 2 years. Give them some slack, and we can get FW/AF next time.

to me, the big stuff is the CORE, which is pvp. sure. nullsec/FW comprise the outer core of pvp, but the inner core is the actual ship balance and viability. you know, seeing ships other than canes and drakes.

but youre right, theyre so far behind in balance that this expansion should just be called "Back to Balance". the "surprise" guard was referring to is probably related to nullsec stuff.

Navigator: this is a good reply to a reasonable question. Good to see you guys address issues promptly clearly.

I am just a little concerned that things are being bumped off of the priority list as set out but a month ago, but thanks for admitting that and not leaving it in the air raising doubt.

They never promised anything. They said they were working on and had to goal to put those things in. They never said promise.

If you can find the word "promise" in any CCP dev post regarding any feature they you see they are failing to deliver then you deserve a cookie and my apologies.

Otherwise shut the hell up.

well, this is not ok. nice of you to be so understanding. but considering how this expansion is being marketed, AF buff is or was a huge selling point.

Jeebus CCP slap a 4th bonus on there already, have a dev spend 3 hours looking through YOUR forums for the hundreds of great and sucky ideas introduced by the player base, add the damn things and be done with it.

Always ... Never ... Forget to check your references.   Peace out Zulu! Hope you land well!
