This event went sour from the start. The HS faction was told that the objectives were secret and that we had to follow empire (CCP)directions to find the objective. We were then from the start placed in two rally points, then all send to a separate rally point, and then moved again.

The problem with this was most / all the nodes along the went wen to time dilation which got worse as the fleet moved, meaning the first fleets that moved went many times faster than the next fleets that moved. This problem was exacerbated by the fact the directions to players came over twitter and not in game, causing further split of the HS forces.

As the multiple HS fleets approached the second staging areas the fleets that were still 10-20 jumps away attempted to tell the closer FCs to hold place. The fleets initially moved 1 jump towards the final objective then held. However a CCP dev then intervened in game told everyone to jump because there was only a small force on the other side.

The HS fleets that were present were then in a position of listening to their FCs or listening to a CCP Dev on what to do. Unlike the NS/LS groups the HS fleets didnt know our FC's from anyone else and figured the Dev was telling us to jump as part of the event. This lead to the initial massacre.

The second set of fleets which I was in then started hearing reports of ENTIRE FLEETS of HS members dying with little to no kills inflicted causing mass confusion in the ranks, desertions of fleet (including my FC), and an eventual decision to hold in place until more direction or plans could be conceived.

This problem started with poor communication from CCP event leaders, and a strangely timed intervention by a CCP dev ordering HS fleets into a battle as if they were our FCs. That combined with what was mentioned previously in this thread of the NS location to attack led to this debacle.

I am sure a well organized NS fleet would have still beat the disorganized HS fleet in a battle, but this wasnt a battle we were told about, this was an ambush that CCP lead us into.

Give this post a 2nd look. This post pretty much sums up exactly what happen today and why it's such baloney.

I got killed after the 2nd jump or so so bought myself a new ship , fitted it and joined a goon fleet of about 40ish guys.Went into system , kille stuff and got killed , jumped system and bought myself a new ship.Got back into the fightin area ..lost anothher ship and jumped to the next system again to reship ... jumped into the fight again to loose another ship and reshipped again to join the fight.

In short i was notified at a late time of the event and had to reship 4 times , using a market available to everyone to do so and so i did. Most high-sec players got shot down , warped from gate to gate to get home and got shot.

Now you can claim this on CCP or RAZOR or anyone you like.Or you could blame it on the fact that the way you are ''used to playing the game'' means you are used to not having to adapt and/or change strategy most of the times. That is our key difference in my opinion.

Your talking about a PVP event. I know how to PVP :) i have no issues with it. This was pitched as a PVE event which was supposed to have multi empire support. What it turned into is the Dev's telling a large H.S Fleet to essentially split up and head into L.S. Once told to jump then disappeared! The State support wasn't even a shuttle lol

With any MMO if you join a Dev lead player event with no info of whats going on you follow them not wanting to miss out. Especially on a launch coming up to a expansion. This was just a mess. If the aim was to get people to see and experience the new content then the event failed. Most people didn't get their.

If this was a PVP event i still would have been their but half the fleet would not have. This turned into a turkey shoot. I was one of the last standing with the first fleet jump but cant do anything 1 vs 200 lol

This was not pitched as a pve event.

Once formed up the destination was to a highsec sys boundering a low-sec system.
After that the destination was through low-sec to a null-sec system.
The next destination was null-sec.

There was an invitation to help the ''pirates'' by forming in null-sec syndicate .

There was enough time to get that brain working ....

This is eve , you are expected to use that thing in your head .. not follow someone blindly.

This was pitched as a PVE event, we were told we were helping PVE Empires fight PVE pirates, it wasnt until an hour before the event we were told differently.

Also we DID have to follow CCP blindly because the objective was "secret" and it wasnt until 2 hours in TIDI hell that we knew it was moving to LS/NS.

I really didn't mind the getting killed. I have been other the other end enough times and it was fun to see the fight from the other angle.

The only thing I want to complain about is why the **** did you get us to form up 25 jumps away and then get us to warp all that way through TiDi to get slaughtered? Wouldn't it have been easier to get us to form up close by?

They switched the route apparently. We were sat next to LS where be rallied to start.

I am not saying that RAZOR are not good at what they do and we were all expecting PVP. Not a dev telling us their is some ships on the other side and to jump. Only to find 500 ships all taking every ship out as the come out of jump.

This has simply meant that half the game player base has missed out on the event. Not only this but they have alienated a **** ton of people!

Yea, my guess is once again someone behind the scene messed up and they had to do this to try and keep it going. CCP Manifest was in the Twitch channel for awhile until he got laughed out for trying to make out it was an epic fight. I feel a little sorry for the ISD trying to convince people to jump into Doril after the first wave of slaughter, he got ripped to ****.

So...... somehow you and hundreds of other hiseccers found out about this event, and yet there was no conceivable way (e.g. numerous forum threads, reddit threads, public announcements) any null bloc would find out.

You guys a pretty clever. Roll

No matter how this event went CCP set this up and knew that our forces would die. They sat on the gate trying to tell our other fleets to all fall in one fleet at a time for the slaughter. They actually organized the jump ins for the TiDi issues. As i said i have nothing against the LS guys who killed us. Its just the way CCP handled this.

And no the event location was moved 10mins before hand from the previous deployment place. They knew where they were sending the fleets. Hence the 21jumps from deployment locations. Whole thing was an organizational mess. PVP Skill has nothing to do with it.

1. Razor have been living in doril for over 2 months with BL and all of null, N3, PL within jump range.
2. The start location for the good guys was Sarum
3. The start location for the bad guys was Utopia

Draw a line from Sarum to utopia and its FAIRLY GODDAMN EASY to anticipate where players will be

Its also fairly easy to guess CCP knew the outcome. Sending unorganized high sec masses into organized pvp trained null masses only has one outcome.

There might have been a few bliss ninnies but once the paths to nullsec were known, nobody was going without notice.

When the first news of a bubble enter the channels, the response was "When is it NOT bubbled?". So nobody was really surprised.

I was willing to take my deadspace Comet into this, and was even thinking "Hey, if the wreck don't get popped by a disco BS someone's going to get some phat loot". I know that I would like to loot a wreck such that my ships would make. We don't get to press "C" on our kills you know.

But then, once the destination was set, after an hour of TiDi to the first spot - that changed several times enroute - and TiDI expected for the 19 jumps, I was simply out of time, docked, and logged. It was simply getting to be a drag and it started to look like the event itself had lost steam. If I had time to get there, I was under the opinion that it would be over or the best of the action would be past.

You died because you had no scouts, no fc, and no fleet comp. You didn't die because whoever killed you was good. You died because you were bad. What you guys had was the worst case scenario for a fleet.

Okay, in fairness, as funny as this is (and it is really, really funny, I mean it is just unbelievably funny), CCP did kind of screw you guys over. I just don't think it was intentional. I think the CCP Director of LARPs or whatever is just that clueless.

You know all those times when nullsec players complain about something dumb that CCP has done to them and you're all like, "Goon tears!" or "Nullbear tears!" or whatever? Yeah.

If there is not a CCP Director of LARPs, there definitely should be. We need to bring this to the CSM's attention.

You talking to one of the players who doesn't react like that when they screw you nulls over. I am not for one a HS carebear lol I would just rather have a constructive convo on the subject rather than people making one line comments that add nothing but make themselves look foolish. (not pointing at yourself :) )

We need to get more players joining the game to get fresh blood who hopefully with join W.H corps or LS/NULL Corps. All this does is send them running to the hills or cancelling. How many of those hs players who actually thought their might be some form of balance in their first L.S adventure with CCP support will ever come back?

If you kick a puppy and steel its food that puppy isn't going to comeback when its a wolf. Watching CCP sending un-experiences players in to that mess was quite frankly very disturbing. They may as well have had Concord pop them in H.S for as much as they learnt about PVP.
