If a squad has already 10 pilots in it but no squad command, you were till now unable to get into squad command position if you wanted to drag yourself (free move on) from another squad directly into the free squad command position. Sucks if noone of these 10ppl who are already in the squad has leadership V.
Well, you can only have 10 people in the squad, so you just need to shuffle people around.
sry to repost, but my suggestion is relevant and I want to make sure you see it:

1st squad choice: "top-most squad with both a Wing Commander and a Squad Commander"

3rd squad choice: "top-most squad with a Squad Commander",
4th squad choice: "top-most commander-less squad with <9 members"
5th squad choice: "top-most commander-less squad with 9 members"

Nice changes.
Can you please make the BROADCAST buttons BIGGER?

TIA

This and if you are feeling adventurous allow us to pull them off the fleet window and place them on the hud where we can use them easier. That or allow us to apply rules based off the alerts system (which will **** off every logi pilot in New Eden.

example :

if Armour < 80% broadcast need Armour.

Being in the same fleet with someone doesn't mean you can kill them.

Hey UI devs, I made a short list of little things for you to have a look at, if you would.

Little UI things

Thank you for your time.

These are great. I really like the fleet fixes.

However..., why haven't we seen anything tho help the click feast in the industry UI? Every time you make changes like this, they are great but there are a ton of "little things" that can be done (seriously some look as easy as a case statement) that never make it? Why have all these "little things" threads when you get to maybe, two or three changes every three months? Is this a side project to do when you are bored because the UI isn't a priority? Or is there a "big announcement" coming to make all those ideas something that will get some love?

Sorry for bing a **** here but industry people have been asking for something / anything to the UI for how many years now? I get everyone uses fleets but eve wouldn't be anything if Indys didn't build ships and mods. How about you throw us a bone for once?

The thing is, "all these little things thread" exist because you guys want to tell us about the little things you want to be changed/fixed.
If you look at the last 2, they are not started by CCP, but players.
I think they are great though, and I'm building a "want to work on" list for myself from them.

For some of us, the UI is a priority, but you are kind of right on these changes being a side project. We have "20% time" where we can work on what we want, and I use it (and some extra hours) to work on these kind of changes.
Perhaps some industry changes will make it higher on my list soon, we'll have to see Smile

Thanks a lot for the information. Knowing that it's a 20% time issue clears up a lot. I appreciate you responding and hopefully you can find some simple ideas to do for the industry UI. There are several out there like changing the right click options on blueprints. Right now you show every research option, when each type of blueprint is restricted (i.e. you can't do invention on a T1 BPO). Feel free to ask if you need more. Smile

This is great stuff!

One comment on the drag multiple members to wing vs drag single member to a wing or squad: The general case will still be to drag single players when you want to add them to fleets. So instead of having dragging one pilot be a special case where you offer them a command position, and use shift to change that behavior, you should make shift necessary to offer a command position.

That way it will be much more intuitive: drag one or more players to a wing/squad and they will be added to the wing/squad. Drag one player to a wing/sqad AND hold shift and you will offer that player a command position.

A note on free-move..

Currently, if the fleet has 3 wing, and someone (boss or not) if commander of wing 1, you can't free move to WC2 or WC3.

I understand why you can't take the FC slot, but please, allow us to take equal rank when free move is on.

Thanks!

Hmm. I have now discovered that I need to post here.

I do have a concern with the drag to invite from any pilot list functionality.

Jita.

Are we all about to get spammed out of our brain with fleet invites in every hub system because people are looking for the easy fleet kill?
Yes it will be great when I'm in null and the FC wants a fleet put together quickly, but there are going to be a lot of occasions when we don't want to see this up.
Perhaps limiting it to people we have at +5 or higher (or modifiable for any value of N).
Or disabling it in systems with more than X number of pilots.
Or even just making it possible to turn off.

I'd prefer something like the first, and I bet your system resources will appreciate the reduction of spurious invites clogging up the system.
That's a good point and we'll keep an eye on it and react to it if needed Smile

Yeah this is going to be an interesting use of the new system.

Fleet with 20 Catalysts that are bouncing between off-grid safes, invite all of Apanake, fleet warp anyone that accepts to a safe, quickly assess gank value of each target and euthanize accordingly.

I'd like to see some fleet manager/assistant role, which can be granted to any fleet member, because often FC is too busy to do simple things like adding squads/wings or moving pilots from one wing to another.
